It seems the charger I forgot.
Dementia? Oh I hope it's not!
Yup folks, I'm here in Spain for a month and have no charger. I unplugged it at home and pulled it out from behind my chair without noticing that the actual plug part stayed behind.
So now I have the cable and the box thingy, but no plug. I've kept an eye open for a computer shop today, but haven't looked too vigorously yet. The hotel rep says he might have something that will fit at home, but if he hasn't you'll know the reason for my silence.
I reckon I've got less than an hour left before it dies on me, so rather than answer your comments on my last post, I will get around to as many of yours as I can.
This has only been our first full day here and it's 11.30pm, so I'm doing this in bed. The weather has been really hot today (mid 70s) and it's all good so far, we're having a lovely time.
I hope I'm able to get sorted, but if not I'll see you in a month's time.

What a shame.... try some of those ...ordinary sell anything shops.... that line the streets down by the seafront.... otherwise you could jump in a taxi up to carrefour a big supermarket that sells them...

@sueznewz Thanks Sue. As you see from the fact that I'm answering this, that I've got what I wanted. The rep's plug didn't fit, so I went into a couple of shops that sold mobile phones etc and the second one had the part I needed. Cost 19E so I didn't think that was too bad. So I'm good to go - yay!

@WorDazza You have plenty to envy me for - it's lovely here. I've just come in from lazing around the pool reading a good book - it's really hot. I'm just having a cup of tea, and then we're off to see people make fools of themselves at the karaoke

Oh those well laid plans, I know you thought of everything and probably checked your list twice but who woulda thought that plug wouldn't automatically fly into the suitcase

I think it's awesome you get to spend time in Spain! Forgetting your charger is not dementia. Forgetting the name of your family but remembering when you were three and accidently taped your dogs tail to it's butt because it sounded funny IS dementia. lol

@ridingbet I have a charger for my phone, but it's not a smartphone. I did ask at the desk if they could charge it for me, but they didn't have one that fitted. The rep was very helpful though, but he couldn't obtain what I needed. Fortunately I found a shop that had what I wanted, and it wasn't too expensive. So no doubt you will get a post or two from me

@jaboUK I hate when I forget chargers for certain things when I am not home. Mainly for my phone though because I rely on that to wake me up.

@VivaLaDani13 I would be very happy if you have crashed for real this time and won;t wake up for a long time. You have been awake for more than 24 hours. You need sleep....... a lot of it.
Sometimes I wish I could teleport over there and put you to bed myself.

Most hotels help with that kind of stuff. I know that because there have been those in our group who had not brought adapters with them which are needed when one travels from India.
Good luck with your find and have a blasting time out there in Spain.
"The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain". so avoid the plain (lol)

@allknowing I'll be sure to stay off the plain then . This hotel didn't have what I wanted, but I managed to buy one. I did bring a couple of adapters as we knew we'd need them.

Hope you'll find one there. Maybe you can purchase a powerbank next time so you can use that whenever you travel and keep the charger at home.

Ooops! Sorry you've been gagged, Janet! Do what I did in Barbados and keep a longhand diary - and then, if your handwriting has deteriorated as badly as mine has since I took to IT, pray that you'll be able to read it when you get home! Happy holiday!
