Where Do You Get Writing Ideas?

Right now would be a good time for writing. The oldest boy is gone, the little one is down for (hopefully) a nap. The husband is building a lego set, and my time is my own. Of course, as I sit here I cannot think of anything to write about. Yes, it is the dreaded Writers Block. The nemesis of the freelance writer, or mythical beast crated by lazy imaginations depending on who you ask. Time to go on an idea hunt. Where to look? I have a few places I go for ideas, but none of them are lighting my creative fire today. Or for the past several weeks actually. This puts a damper on my earnings for sure. When you are blogging for money you have to post regularly. (Image is Mine)

I simply rely on what happens during the day and may be worth writing about, or whatever happens to come to mind as a subject. If nothing occurs to me then I am content to interact without posting a discussion for the time being.

I do a lot of interacting with others. I lead a rather dull life. Nobody wants to read about my day.

@nonersays And we are not paid for posting an article or story. I understand that we are only paid by interaction. The more comments and likes, the more cents we make. Am I right? I am still new here and learning.

@antonbunot That is my understanding, that you earn here based on interaction and not from making your own posts, but I do write at places other than Mylot where content is more important than conversation.

I love it that your husband is building a leggo set. I hear you on writer's block. I have a short story that needs somebody to pick it up and shake it hard. Reading decently written novels might help. Reading a newspaper might jiggle your brain cells?

@nonersays I've been wondering about buying a building set for my hubby for Christmas. Not sure which one.

I'm usually at a loss for subject matter myself. I wish I could figure out how to write popular discussions here that get a lot of responses. BTW, I think that's so neat that your hubby builds Legos. I was beginning to think I was rather weird for playing with kids' toys, LOL! I like castles best myself, especially the old sets. (I don't actually play with them, just build them.)

I browse morguefile sometimes. I'm not always moved to write by the images though.

a short film I hope to film in a couple weeks came from a couple images I saw on Morguefile while browsing for pics to go along with a story I wrote on another site.

I've found that MOST of the time when I just write whatever is on my mind, I don't get very much interaction on the post.

@nonersays It's what you have on your mind.

@nonersays I write down ideas as I get them. That way I can use them later.

I had a notebook once where I would jot down ideas to write about. Somehow I never sat down and wrote those ideas out.

I usually just write about stuff that happens in my daily life. Sometimes, if you just start writing stuff, then that might help. It doesn't have to be about anything specific. I know some use this method and it will sometimes help.

Sometimes I think I have lots to say until it comes time to write it. Then it doesn't always sound as interesting as I originally thought

the best way is just looking around you whats happens in past time if you not get anything then search outside window and you will definitely get some topic to right but it depends on you what you find otherwise you can share your problem, your good moments ,your life, anything you think you just put and see responses.if you still not get then think about your friends the you definitely get something funny thing to post.

I've been trying to get ideas from the magazines I flip through. Or even the novels I read, though I normally read fiction.

Writing is not the most important thing on myLot. It helps but it doesn't produce earnings without interaction. You can make money just responding to other discussions and such. Interaction is the most important part of earnings here.

@nonersays,Most of my discussions here are based on my own experiences.Sometimes a thought flashes across my mind and I start a discussion on it.

It can be tiring and challenging to force yourself to write when your mind tells you to just rest. I try to think of the moment, latest news, or something that happened to my friends that I could share. I try reading, and reading some more to get ideas. I'm not as prolific as others, though as time sometimes gets in the way.

Whenever I can't seem to find anything to write about, I may take a day off here and there. Sometimes I go through pictures I have on my computer and try to think of something that way.

I'm in a bit of a writers block right now myself but ideas come from everywhere for me. most lately come from things I see on Facebook.
