Shall I Keep This Puppy or Look for Its Owner?

Early this morning, my two dogs almost killed a stray puppy in my garden. I went out as I heard them barking out angrily. They were about to devour the scared pup so I rushed to stop them. As I picked up the puppy, my dogs sensed that I was protecting the puppy so they behaved and went back to their house quietly. The pitiful puppy was terrified and trembling so I caressed and comforted the poor little creature. Now the pup would not want to leave my side. Wherever I go, it will go. I wish I could keep this cute white puppy but chances are, the owner is already worried and searching.

If you think he has a home, then it's best to try to return him. But if you have a lot of stray dogs near you, he could well be homeless and if he (and your dogs) want him to stay, then it looks like you've got a new friend.

You have a good point. But, there are no stray dogs in my place and so it is very likely that someone really owns this.

@boiboing Yes, they must be so sad so I can't really keep this dog unless we have checked the whole neighborhood and no none claims it.

It is always good to hand the pup over to its owner, if there is any. But, if he is a stray, it would be difficult for you to abandon.

Yes, I can't abandon this cute dog even if when it grows older, it will not be a cute dog at all. But when the owner comes I will surely give back this pup.

Awww, such a cutie. I'm sure it's owner is looking for it and sad to know it is missing. I would also be afraid that your two dogs would hurt the puppy if you kept it.

He is certainly cute but two dogs are probably enough, aren't they? And as you say, someone is probably dreadfully worried about him. Hope you find his owner soon.

I was trying to overcome my temptation by thinking of the pain of caring for another dog but this puppy is so cute and so I am wishing no owner would claim lol!

We did. My husband found the real owner and though I am sad I am happy that the puppy is now back to its master.

@wiLLmaH Yes, the owner was found by my husband. He is a neighbor 3 houses away from us. He has been looking for his doggie somewhere else. Wee turned over the puppy to him and he was so thankful.

He is adorable. I think maybe you might just want to go to a few house right around you and see if one is missing. I know around here many dogs are thrown away after the puppies grow up. If nobody claims him in a few days I would adopt him and keep him for my own. He is adorable, tiny and cute. I don't think he will grow very big and you can have a new friend for life.

I would have adopted this pup if no one came but the owner was found by my husband. He did not know how to thank us because he loves the doggie a lot.

He doesn't have a collar or name tag so you could find the owner? You could try talking to your neighbors about the missing pup. He's adorable.

No name tag or collar to identify. My husband went around the neighborhood and found the real owner finally who was thankful to us.

puppy is so cute you have to wait for its owner or inform around of your house or put little board outside home that should anyone puppy missing so you can find its owner easily if owner not come then you will keep with you,but as looking from image puppy is so cut and charming and owner is also worried and do anything for it till you can enjoy with it.best of luck for puppy and if owner meet then please update us we also worried now for puppy.

I would recommend posting a picture on a site for pet shelters that way if someone is looking for him they can find him.

I would have done that if no one in the neighborhood claims but a neighbor 3 houses away from us claimed the doggie. It was obvious he was the owner because his descriptions matches those of the pup.

Hi, got a very cute puppy. The best way to do is to return the puppy to his family. Even though you will miss him but still he's family misses him also.

The owner came to claim the dog yesterday night. He was searching for the pup the whole morning and already lost hope he could retrieve his pet. He was so thankful.
