Do you family or friend understand you earning online

Do you family or friend understand you earning online I’ve been working online now for 5 years, over that time I’m earned a fair amount of cash which I’m grateful for. Sometimes it not easy spending hours after hours at my laptop and only earning a few cents. Then there are other times where you seem to make money in no time. I don’t know if every one of you out who earns online is the same, but my family or the few friends I have don’t seem to understand working online. Earn money from your computer. Over the years I’ve tried to explain but no they don’t seem to get it, understand it. My sons seem to understand it a little more than most but that about as far as that goes. Does your family and friends understand you earning from you computer?

My husband cannot understand why I spend to much time online, but he understands that I like to have personal earnings that I enjoy to spend for myself.

I like to have something extra that is not earmarked for anything else. If I make money here, even if it isn't much, it will qualify as that something extra.

In the beginning my parents thought I was crazy about earning money online. But once I showed them the money in my bank account, they started believing I could earn money here.

@kevin1877uk Even more strange they don't really read my work, a few do but not most of them. I have taken to promoting my blog on Facebook so they see what I am writing.

@kevin1877uk My parents never know what I do for a living.. my work is waayy too out there. They've always been onto me to "get a proper job". Re friends, I don't bother explaining to people who don't understand or have the interest to understand. Social media specialists == unemployed writer to these folks.

Most of my friends do not understand that. They still think making money online is scam, even though I proved to them. Well, some of them still do not believe in online banking and online shopping as well. I am glad some of the friends I met over the Internet do understand that, it could be because they also believe we can also meet real friends over the Internet.

I think most of that is from old school thinking. My girlfriend knows I work online or earn from online sites. But seems to have no desire to bother with it. Other than that, like you, no one really understands the concept. If I actually took the time out to explain it to them, maybe they would.

@kevin1877uk some people like us get the whole thing. Some people don't and yet some people will frown upon it. What will be funny is when the day comes that this will be the main way to earn a living. I am sure that is a long way off. But who knows.

My husband gets it, he sees me and how much time and energy that I devote to working online and he sees how it pays-or doesn't in some cases. More then the monetary aspect, it has become an enjoyable pastime of mine. I don't go out and am a quiet home body, so this suits me well.

@kevin1877uk my wife had a neighbor friend where we used to live before who thought the same thing it was a waste of time until she saw my wifes paypal account and all of the money in it from earnings she had made from the time wasting online jobs she was doing. She was a bit upset because my wife had earned the same amount she had in a wks time without having to leave the house on her own schedule and no physical labor. My wife told her its not physical labor but its not easy I just make it look easy. When she lost her job she gave it a try but said it was too hard and gave up. Online work is not for everyone.

I started on the internet years ago and have made good money while doing it but it's not enough to pay the bills, I don't spend days on line, I spend days in my studio but I enjoy the hours I spend on line with my cyber friends too. My friends and family know what I'm doing but they also know I would be out the door to have some fun if the opportunity happened. Money is not the number one reason I'm here.

People know I write but no one asks any questions or makes any comments, it is a lonely business. I think most writers feel like that although on this site we share this one thing we have in common which adds an extra dimension to a writer's life.

I used to spend all I earnt on my family which they never complained about but they do not see the sense in it. For me it is more like a hobby and adds additional pocket money to treat them. Generally they leave me alone to what I do. It is something I enjoy doing and meeting such interesting people and learning all kinds of things.

I was just thinking about this the other day. My friends don't understand it because I don't make as much as they do working a full time job. But I am unable to work a full time job like they can. And they don't understand that. I do my absolute best to work and the money I can and no they don't get it.

I know they don't do they, all the years I've been online they never accepted that fact. Never really sat down and looked at that you could do to earn on like. In their minds it's just a scam and no one earns online. They seem to think all you use a computer for is gaming or email and FB.

@T_gray I know I've given up, I friend of mine was unemployed and sat all day doing nothing. I told him about it all, he did sign up to a few things than that was it. I just gave up trying because people don't get it, it's only those like you and me that do.

@kevin1877uk Exactly. I gave up on trying to get them to understand. I try to tell people I blog though, and try my hardest to get them to understand but its really hard. I try to convince them that I really have made money. But their opinion doesn't really matter anymore. The people that mean the most I got to understand. My best friend does my "bookkeeping" for me, so she sees my numbers.
