Writing Helps with Writing

November 24, 2015 10:18am CST
As I have spent the last several days attempting to retrieve cached Bubblews articles from the web, I have realized something. When I was writing daily, my writing skills were improving. Considering my wild and wacky aspirations to actually some day be published (either in a magazine or a book), that's a good thing. Therefore, I need to start at this thing called writing once again. I have a couple blogs that I have been all but ignoring. I suppose I should spend more time there once again. Do you try to write daily? Do you journal or blog?

I like reading other peoples posts and commenting on them, but I am not disciplined when it comes to writing. I tend to write when the mood takes me. Though if it is your aim to write for a living getting into the routine of writing everyday whether you feel like it or not is a good discipline to get used to. I agree that when you do write everyday your writing skills will improve.

I used to journal a lot I have a handful of books that were full until someone stole them out of the trunk of my car I stopped writing, it was very sad. I lost all of those memories I worked so hard to keep.

@Castlerock34 that's really depressing. i remember once, many years ago in high school, someone stole my purse. i knew who it was, but couldn't prove it. i didn't have much money it it, but i had old photographs that were irreplaceable. tons of them in my wallet. and i had the school announce that all i wanted back were my pictures. you know that person just threw them away. still makes me angry. so i can imagine how you feel!

@jillybean1222 I wish I could some how find them but after 2 years they are long gone in a dump somewhere. I think it was kids that stole items out of my car just by the stuff they took and I am sure when the opened my trunk and saw a lock box they probably thought that they were getting lucky

@jillybean1222 I try to write some everyday. I was spending a lot of time trying to get back my posts for Bubblews and realized I was not spending the time writing. I am no longer looking for my lost posts.

I'm nearly done with my process of searching by dates. It's tedious, but in the scheme of things, it is n't taking too long. I'm enjoying reading through the memories.

I'll admit that I don't write everyday. I should try and make the effort to write a post everyday. I do comment and interact everyday, whether it's here or elsewhere.

I think you can use Mylot as a writing platform too. In the past, we used to do that. We will publish in Mylot as though we were published an article elsewhere. If you look back the old discussion threads, you can find that many opening thread are way too long. Some were more than 500 words.

I write something most days and I try to interact as much as I can but I do not keep trying to resurrect posts written in days gone by. It is better to start again and come up with new ideas.

I do write daily, here, in my journal and on my current writing project. So, quite a bit of writing.

I do try and write on here everyday but don't always make it. I always have good intentions about journaling but never follow through with it as I get busy and forget about it and before you know it, a month as gone by and I only have one entry.
