What are You Grateful for This Holiday Season

I am grateful for my family, dogs, friends, a nice warm home and plenty of food on the table. A bed to sleep in and my clothes to keep me warm. Let's think about people that don't have anything and how we can make their Holiday a little better. Maybe you know someone in your neighborhood that will be alone, you could ask them to come for a meal at your home. What other ways do you think you could help someone?

The main thing I am grateful for Marcy is having a roof over our heads. Without that, we would be in a fine pickle. So I feel for the worlds people that have no where to call home. It is good to be able to invite someone into your home.

Yes, having a roof over your head is a thing to be grateful for as some have no home, yes it is good to invite someone into your home on a Holiday.

I left my home in England ten years ago, sold my house and burned my bridges. I am grateful for a new place to call home and the view it has given me such as I did not have in the home I left behind.

I am grateful for all the good things that happened to me this year. These are the highlights of my year. I am grateful for all the bad things that happened to me this year. These will form the foundation I build my house on. I am grateful for all the people I've met this year. They all played a special role in my life. I am grateful for all the people that stayed in my life this year. I am truly blessed by their presence. I am grateful that I have time, energy, and health to do more for the community I live in. I am starting my volunteering meeting today. :)

I am grateful for so many things God has given me - family, friends, health, Pip, my home, a bed to sleep in. Donating to food drives is a good way to help.

As you already mentioned an invite to dinner at your place or if they are not able maybe you can bring them a plate with all the fixings. A hand made card or gift as well might cheer someone else up during the holidays which people often suffer emotionally especially when they don't have family or money.

@Marcyaz that is really thoughtful of you. I am sure it will make them happy even if they eat it alone. simply that someone thought of them and was even nice enough to bring it to them is awesome

I am very grateful , my dog is doing better, and my family, had some real scares with family and illness. So I am happy everyone for now is doing good. I won't be able to have others come into our home as my dad won't be up to having extra company here. However we are taking a meal to one person whose stove is not working, so she will get some food. There is one woman that is homeless, and we always give her dinner left overs, but will have a little plate for her. Our area has a big auditorium, they will be giving out meal to anyone who would like to eat, be it homeless,or if you don't wan't to cook or just want company, all our welcome there,I think it is great.

Glad to hear your dog is doing better and your family with their illness. It is good that you will be able to feed some who would otherwise not have a nice meal on Thanksgiving. That is wonderful that in your town their is a big auditorium for all who want to eat whether homeless or not.

@CookieMonster46 They must have received a lot of extra food this year to feed so many people, the city auditorium will house a lot of people. Glad to hear you helped out. We took 2 plates of food to different people we heard would have no Thanksgiving meal and it was appreciated and we were honored to do so.

@Marcyaz , they fed over 1800 people this year, usually they put up a tent in the parking lot where they hand out daily bags of groceries, I have served meals there before on Thanksgiving. This year, they realize how many more people need food, so they used the City auditorium, I was so glad to hear how many were able to eat this year.

Lovely post.. I'm grateful for everything in my life, and my life in general. I believe bringing some food or just visit them could help a lot.. I used to visit and love (still) spending time with those who were alone on such holidays..

Thank You and glad you are grateful for everything in your life. I have gone to a nursing home and taken some small gifts with a group of people and we have even taken some desert to them. We always try to find out who will have no one to visit them and stay longer with them.

I'm grateful that I'm closer to my brother than ever and am still in touch with my cousin and father. I'm grateful that my two adult cats are still alive, that my mother in heaven are watching over me, and that my muse had been awakened from a long slumber to bring my writing mojo back. I'm also grateful that I have 5 agents who are interested in my ms and could make my dreams come true next year.

I am grateful for having the life I have and had. both of my parents are gone but they gave me such a great childhood and life. We were not a wealthy family in money but we always had fun and played games after dinner every night, just the 4 of us, mom, dad, my sister and me. I am grateful for all the many friends I have made along the way starting at 6 years old and still have so many of them after 55 years and yes, we still get together every so often. None of us have grown up yet. I am grateful for my children and grandchildren. I am especially grateful for the good lord letting my second grandson that had a very bad start in life and had 2 operations before he was 2 years old. He had 5 holes in his heart and we never thought he would make it. He is now 15 and light of our lives. I am grateful for every breath I take every single day. I am grateful for god making me the person that I am and how I love helping other people and putting smiles on peoples faces and help give children gifts that have no other way of getting them. Every child deserves to have something to smile about and I like being one of the reasons for this.
