Good morning, friends. For me, this is the best of mornings. The newmouse I bought yesterday is working! I´m sure I´ll read and answer more posts. I don´t know why I was so lazy as mot to have bought one before. I tend to wait until many gadgets are absolutly dead before I replace them. It had to do a bit with my resistance to this world where everything is useless after a small time. When I was young, things were made to last a lifetime. I have electric gadgets in my kitchen that are over 20 years old. My blender is an old Oster and will beat any new blender. The same thing happened with the old cars. I just sold my 1997 Toyota Corolla because I wasn´t using it. It was good as new. With the new mouse I can go everywhere, click and there I am. With the old one I had to do half of the work with that thingie I loathe that is in the middle of the keyboard plus the up and down keys. I know admire my patience! So. I hope that I can take some of this morning´s sunshine I have here to your posts during the day.

I am in the fortunate position of having a couple of spare mice in the house. These days there is a tendency towards manufacturing large clumsy ones that look more like guinea pigs than mice, so I took the opportunity to buy a couple of reasonable ones while I had the chance.

I chose mine yesterday by the price and by the size. I did not want a very big one as I often bring my laptop to my bed and I did not want to spend too much money. Some were awfully expensive and I bet they do not last longer.

@marguicha Some of the very large ones are very expensive and boast of having numerous buttons on features, yet they are extremely clumsy to hold.

@Asylum my mouse gets stuck sometimes but it is usually because it has walked on something sticky on my desk.

I completely agree, we still have a Ford Fiesta that is 16 years old and still great and I bought my blender 40 years ago when I got married and it stills work.

My daughters have kitchen gadgets that last no more than 1 year at the most. Mine seem eternal.

@marguicha Same for my niece, everything new does not last for more than a couple of years, crazy marketing and consumerism.

I've got an old Oster blender too and it works fine, why should I buy the latest which is going to break soon after. Sticking to the good stuff as long as I can also.

The new ones are not good at all. I don´t know how many of them my daughters have had in their married life.

I'm glad you are enjoying your new mouse. I very rarely use mine as I'm usually in bed or in my armchair when I'm computing, and there's nowhere firm for the mouse to go. I'm quite happy with my touch pad.

I have a medium size bed. I install myself at one half and use the mouse over the bed sheet

the main thing here is you having a good and effective gadget and not how old the gadget is, in as much as the gadget is still doing what you buy it for and still effective, you can only get a new one when the gadget is not working effectively again like the case of your mouse, i have been using my car for 7 years now and the car still working very well because I maintain it properly and do the necessary changes to it at the appropriate time

True. I just sold my car because I wasn´t using it. It was as good as new and it has almost 20 years.
