These Prank Calls are so annoying

I have a sim card for over 5 years now, and haven't changed the number. When I bought it, at first some people tried to prank me by calling and wanting to know my name. I remember that three years ago, someone who called had a voice like my friend, so I ended chatting with him for nearly an hour before I realized that it was all a big mistake. Can't believe it's still happening now. A person from an unknown number had called me some days ago, wanting to know what my name is, and where I was. I retaliated by asking the same, then disconnected the call. The man called me a few times but I didn't pick it up. Just now the man called again. I didn't realize that number so the moment I heard that irritating voice I hung up. Gosh It's so annoying to get calls like this still now. I thought these kinds of things happened with newbies. What was he thinking, I would give up my name even if he behaves rudely on the phone? No one should be stupid enough to fall for that kind of trick. They always have this strategy for riling us into arguments out of nowhere so that to uphold our viewpoint, we would slip up. Not gonna work, mate!

The next time he calls, tell him "I'm so glad you called! I did what you said, but there's blood everywhere! Get over here and help me clean up this mess before the others get here!" Or find out if there's a way that you can block those calls from your phone... that might be a better option.

@Auntylou It sure is! Blocking them is probably the much better option, right?

Those calls are annoying, I will answer once, by only saying hello, and not giving my name, if I realise I do not know the person once I've said hello, I will tell them they have the wrong number, if they call after that, I put my phone on silent and do not answer the call again. I hope you do not get a call from that prank caller again.

yes the call hasn't come back until now....I am very relieved. I hate being bombarded and being tensed, however little, by prank calls. Yours is a good way of tackling them, I do similar things with them.

I hate prank callers. Usually if a number is unknown or private - I do not pick up. And if it's from collect numbers, I would block them (as they have this feature for Apple iPhone). I do not understand why people have so much time in their world to prank call or scam calls!

@ria1606roy I see! My home number is private caller. I told my parents if they need me call twice and I will pick up ~ if not I won't.

Exactly my thoughts! I have to pickup unknown numbers because they can be from those making some delivery, or in most of the cases a new number of a friend.

I wish I had the time on my hands that they seem to have. I would definitely use it much wiser than they do.

haha, that's true.....they seem to have so much time and if I had it, I would have done some good mylotting in the previous days.

The same happened to my wife. The perp first harassed her on WhatsApp and when she blocked him there he started texting her but never actually calling her. Eventually I called his number from her phone and got his mail box. I left a message threatening him with police action if he carried on and we never heard from him again.

you did the good thing sometimes these perps are unabashedly harassing people and they need to be taught a lesson. I'm glad that person is not disturbing your wife now.

I hate calls like that. I have had people call my phone and I thought they were someone I know. One guy texted me all the time and I though he was my husband because we both have a son named Mark.

oh my god, that is awful. I hate them too. The same thing happened to me as you can see in the post. I honestly don't understand what they can achieve by harassing people.

I have never had such personal phone harrassment, though I get plenty of texts trying to sell me stuff. My phone company have a system where you report such and they block that number for you

yes every phone company has so. But they call from different numbers each day and they even stop calling after you don't respond, so it's not worth a hassle. But I sure do get irritated when the phone call comes. I have also activated a DND or Do Not Disturb service on my sim card so that these text messages cannot come.
