Just Baked A Banana Bread

My banana bread is in the oven now baking away. I can see that I am entirely well since my bad day yesterday as it just about wiped me out just doing this simple task and cleaning the dishes after. I use a recipe that I found in the Canadian Chatelaine magazine decades ago. It is usually pretty tasty. Some do not like it as there are added mixed glazed fruits in it and it tastes almost like a fruit cake. But I personally love it. It tastes even better the older it gets. When the banana cake will be cooled enough I will slice it thin and wrap each slice and put it in my big freezer. So whenever I feel like a slice, I just take one out.#

Sounds good. I have a lady friend who's 98 that makes banana/cherry bread. She's been making it ever since she was 14 yrs. old. Everyone asks for it. She is still baking.

No, Alfredo, I haven't tried the chocolate chips in this particular recipe, but I did with my banana muffins and it was delicious.

That's so funny. I just baked banana bread a couple days ago and I do the very same thing. Once it cools, slice it and wrap the individual slices and put them in the freezer.

I am going to make a banana cake today or tomorrow. It is a favourite with my husband because it is not too sweet. I shall copy you and wrap mine up and freeze it in pieces too.

Silly question but does banana bread taste like bananas? I ask that since zucchini bread doesn't taste like zucchini and I've never had banana bread because I don't like bananas.

Putting dried fruits into your banana bread sounds like a great twist on an old favorite. I'm fond of fruit cake so I bet I'd enjoy this

Banana bread is tasty. Too bad you need the glazed fruit. I'd sub in real dried fruit like dried apricots if I made the recipe.
