Snugglesafe Heat Pads for Pets

I have just invested in three Snugglesafe heat pads/hot water bottles for our three rabbits. They have to be heated up in the microwave and have a cover fr them and then the rabbits or other pets can lie on them to keep warm. Due to our rabbits being outside and the weather meant to turn bad I thought it was sensible to use my Amazon earnings on some before the weather hits. Has anyone else tried them out?

I don't know, but there is a friend I met through the old MyLot and is a friend on Facebook and she knows a lot about rabbits. I could ask her if she is here and direct her to this post for you.

@rebeccaelaine I e-mailed her, so either she will respond here or if she isn't a member anymore, I hope she will tell me what to tell you.

I don't think it is such a good idea to give an outdoor pet a heat pad, it is not necessary when an animal has fur and is used to being outdoors. It would be much more sensible to give it a lot of hay to bury itself in. Then its own body will get warm and stay warm all night. A heat pad will get cold after an hour.

these last for up to tn hours. They have lots of hay and straw. It has been raining a lot here and I am worried that they will get cold from it. It is unusually warm for this time of year and their fur does not look thick like last winter.

I have no tried them but have heard of them. My worry would be that they would try to eat it. Most rabbits who live outside usually have a shorten lifespan.
