What a tormenting neighbour I seem to have

Since I retired last year I have taken advantage of the available time to take a fair number of holidays. They have usually been small holidays of 10 days or 2 weeks and only as far as Tunisia, Spain or Turkey etcetera. Nevertheless my neighbour has constantly feigned jealousy, despite his having visited the Canary Islands fairly regular.
He is also fully aware that I have not been away for a couple of months now due to waiting for hospital appointments.
This morning I took a quick look on Facebook and the first that I saw was my neighbour’s post that he submitted from Tenerife, where he is having Christmas Dinner.
Now I know what jealous feels like.

Cheeeeze, I wish my social security checks would double, then perhaps I could board the kitty and take Ally on a trip .... well, since that's not gonna happen I'll just be jealous of people like you and @jabouk who get to go to places like Spain or Turkey or where ever.
Butt on the flip side, for 40 years all I wanted was to be able to stay home if I wanted and that is exactly what I'm doin

@Asylum Oh ok, so he stay then?
Barry have you ever been on a 90 day stay to say malta? Some years ago when I was married we would go and run the Malta half Marathon in Feb and the older ones where on the last few days of their 90 days stay. I would beat staying in the UK that would be for sure.

Haha I sent my nephew a photo of afternoon tea from the tea club room of our Hotel in Bangkok over looking the river with beautiful views over Bangkok. He quickly responded by sending a photo of a mug of tea from the window over looking the garden in pouring rain back in Britain. I shall send you one from my next trip Barry so you do not feel left out!

@Asylum Well I think it is good to share. I would not be completely selfish. Now that would be cruel to leave you wondering where I was. I think you torment us enough showing sun beds by the pool you are just being generous and showing what we are missing too!

I'm sure Barry said January, knowing him it would be 30th December after his hospital appointment.

I am hoping to go down south sometime this winter, to enjoy some warm weather and fishing. My husband and I are thinking about it.

@Asylum We do have extreme weather differences in the US. I have never been to Florida so that may be our choice.

Nothing worse than to rub things in. Still, you should just enjoy the day.

@Asylum I once called friends who were at work already the week before school started. I was landing in New Orleans. They were very jealous. Fun stuff.

@allknowing He always tries to brag to me when he is away and I tend to do the same when I go away on holiday.

I like all the main Canary Islands and have visited Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote. The coast Spanish resorts I must have visited a couple of dozen times, which has included a large number of resorts spanning the whole length. My favourite was probably Fuengirola.

@Missmwngi Oh I certainly will. I will post a photograph on Facebook for him to see. I did that earlier this year while I was in Turkey. It was raining for weeks here in England and I posted that it was too hot in Turkey.

Is it really wise for him to let people know his house is empty?

@Asylum Okay, good then. I try my best to keep the number of people who know mine is empty to a minimum when I am away.

@Asylum While I hardly feel any jealousy at all, my friend is immersed in it for no reason even. When he chanced to see my payslip he gasped and said - "do you earn so much?" though it was nothing much to crow about. Then I asked him why he is surprised and he should be earning more and he admitted he did! siva

lol Yes that was a bit of a low blow but one has to be willing to see these sorts of things when one visits Facebook. I see loads of delicious cookies which make me quite green!!
