Is happiness in earning loads of money and not making any memories. Is it only about living in an plush and swanky residence but no people to share the joy. Is it only about these materialistic things or about enjoying the life, making memories, travelling with loved ones ?

Happiness comes in different forms. You can be happy with loads of money, you can also be happy with no money at all. Its all upto the person and how they take on life. Life is what you make of it and so is your happiness. You can be happy with the littlest of things. It all depends on you!

"Happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy..."
I think having loads of money and nobody to share it with is really sad. I would be very lonely. I love working hard and sharing the fruits of my labour with my family. Seeing them smile and well taken care of, makes me happy. I also surround myself with positive and progressive people. I do not allow negative things to way me down. I try to find humour out of negative situations. That way i just laugh it off and create a healthy state of mind for myself.
Materialistic things come and go, but creating good memories lasts forever. So in everything I do I always choose to be happy.

I agree to you but sometimes we are pushed so hard that we stop about emotions, love and affection and instead think about materialistic things. Sometimes I feel many people around us feel the same about us. They don't care how you enjoyed your holidays with your loved ones instead they may see you as an inferior for not owning a car or a big mansion. When these kind of behaviors are more it affects us as well.

Happiness is when you are away, there is someone who misses you so much. Happiness is when you reach home there is someone who cares you more than their own. Happiness is when there is someone who is always there for you, at your joy and sorrow. Like this happiness is not something you can explain with some mere words.

I believe happiness is the key to achieving mental satisfaction and pleasure. Without happiness, our lives surely would have been dull. To have that in life, what one can do is really reflect upon his own mind and think what can make him happy. Depends on the person really. One can find it in luxury, one can find it in the company of loved ones, or one can find it in mental perusal. However, we being social creatures, most of us find solace and comfort, ergo happiness, by being an active member of human community who can be friends, family or the significant other half. The true path to happiness should never be cloaked, or one may not be able to reach full potential in his lifetime.

The ultimate and real happiness is when you spend your time with the ones you love, when you achieve something you love to do, when you follow your passion with utmost dedication and love and when things like trust, friendship, love care and concern becomes higher and becomes the ultimate goal of your life. Happiness comes from within, by the simplest things we do and by the simplest gestures we people show. :)

We have to accept the undeniable fact that all of us need money. We need it to make ourselves and others around us happy. But it should not be made a priority. We should learn to know where to draw the line. Ultimately, true happiness lies in memories that money can't buy.

@ClaraLeonard I totally agree to you, that is also the point I wanted to make. Money should be earned but one should not only make that as the priority.

I think that happiness is different for everyone. For one person loads of money is where it's at. For someone else money doesn't mean a thing, it's family and values. It's priorities on a cerebral level.

In my opinion, happiness is a situation where our hearts are satisfied, safe and comfortable. No matter it is caused by money or anything else.

Happiness is being open to the joy within and around us in all its forms. It takes a while to get there. But once you reach that feel, there is nothing inspiring like it.

Happiness for me is being able to provide for my children needs and to be with them everyday. Seeing them laughing makes me happy already.

I don't think money brings happiness. Happiness is all about the pursuit of things that matter to you.

I recently met a guy that works all the time because he doesn't have anything else to do and doesn't really have any friends. I instantly felt sad for him because I love people and sharing my life with people around me. What good does it benefit a person if they earn all these riches and don't have anyone to share it with and nobody to come home to? My happiness is found in God, and the people that he have blessed me with. Sometimes, the same things that make me smile are the same things (people) that make me cry. However, I am not responsible for how people treat me, but I am responsible for how I respond.

Thats right but it works both ways mate. You'd better be off with $$$ instead of without it. Think

That is the point, I am not telling we should not have money but my point here is that we should be contented in what we have and not go an extra stretch to earn more and in that pursuit spend no time with the loved ones, have no time for personal interests.

@BluestEye ha ha...but the extra stretch or extra mile we have to go to earn that more money sometimes leaves no near and dear ones around us to take somewehere. :(
