It is amazing to me what my soon to be bride gave up! She gave up her me with her family, her friends and her job to come be with me. She was and is super close to her family, especially her little brother her parents adopted from the streets. If she wasn't working or spending time with me through skype, she was taking care of him. He is something that can give her the biggest smile possible. I feel bad that she doesn't get to spend time with him anymore. As of 2013 the Philippines had a population of over 93 million people, so jobs can be hard to come by.The Philippines simply don't have the jobs to support that many. My lady had a good job and was offered a promotion but she turned it down to be with me. It has to be hard leaving all the friends you have ever known. Sure, she is a amazing woman and will make new friends here but leaving the friends you know has to be hard. I know it would be hard for me. I am very thankful that I have met her and have never knew someone so special as her. She has shown me so much love to me and my son that it is unbelievable. She is truly one of kind to me and is my soul mate.

My daughter-in-law did the same when she married my son. She's a Thai girl, and both my husband and I love her to bits.

@jaboUK How did she do in the colder weather? Kathy is still waiting for snow here, We currently are having one of the warmest winters ever. So sadly no snow yet.

For sure she will, I will do as much as I can for her to stay in touch. Skype helps a lot. We plan on trips over as much as we can.

First of all, congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I am also from the Philippines, and when I married my ex, I gave up my job as a finance supervisor about to be promoted to assistant manager and be sent to Canada for months of training. I traveled 13,000 miles to be with him, but sadly it wasn't enough for him that he has to go to other women for whatever kick or high they give him. No regrets though. I can look anyone straight in the face and tell them I did everything and tried everything so I have no what ifs moving on. Again congratulations and best wishes for her!

@rodabod Nice to meet you too, and hopefully your fiancee someday. I am in a much better place now. Much better, higher paying job, and wonderful man who is the exact opposite of my ex. Good luck to us both!

Sorry to hear about the bad situation. It is his loss and not yours for sure! I assure of you my heart and my eyes are for only for her. Life is to short for games like your ex played. It sounds like he was a selfish and really dishonest person. Its such a shame! I'm happy that you have no regrets because you shouldn't. I'm sure God has a plan for you plan for you.Nice to meet you.

Did she move to the US. If so, that is indeed a long way from family and friends.

Yes, December 10th she moved to the United States with me. We are blessed with the K1 visa process only took 3 months after we applied. I know people where it took well over a year. We plan on getting married her as well as the Philippines.

She really loves you. I'm sure leaving the people she care about is difficult but her love for you makes it easier to leave with you. That's nice. Enjoy your time with her.

I believe that! My trip to the Philippines I seen very humbling things all over. It makes me thing how shameful some of the people in the United States are for complaining on the things they complain on. We all should smile, life is to short and precious.

@rodabod Yeah! That is very true! Our attitude like this were passed from generations to generations. Most probably because we are invaded by so many countries and our culture have been mixed by other cultures. Plus, we are located in Pacific Ring of Fire which is prone to typhoons, tsunamis, and earthquakes.
