There are many people spend a lot of their money to do the cosmetic surgery. Some of them because they feel not beautiful so they have to do it. But some of them to do it because they have to fix some defect at their face or body. How about you?

Like most of you said below.Sometime you get disfigured in a accident of some sort.Yes,you need this type of surgery. If they make a person feel good about themselves and why not.Go for it.

I don't think they are necessary unless it is for a defect or medical purposes

I would only consider cosmetic surgery if I had bad scars or other problems after an accident. I wouldn't change the way that I look now. I know a woman who had cosmestic surgery several times. She kept on changing small things about her body that she didn't like, and one day it went wrong. The result of the surgery was really bad (much worse than before) She has to live with that result and she really regrets the she did it.

I would never do it to improve my looks. I think it is quite criminal that this is being pushed so hard in the media as a good thing.

Yes if a person has been in an accident and has been disfigured. Otherwise why are people not satisfied with way they look. Maybe they lack confidence and have low self-esteem. The media is not making things better too. Media puts to much pressure on the young generation who are still very naive.

I like my body as it is.....it is my uniqueness and I own that. Also I get to wear dresses that specifically suit my body rather than others who have a supposedly 'normal' body. However if one has gross cosmetic defect that is a constant source of embarrassment for the person, I believe he or she can undergo surgery to correct it. That is if, the person is becoming severely depressed by how the look is.
