Which Coffee Cup?

A quick glance at the interesting discussions list showed me a lot of coffee posts.
It is easily apparent how much we look forward to our morning Java.
Rather than write another discussion about coffee, I thought the cup would be a better focus.
My husband and I always use mugs. A medium sized mug. All of our mugs are in pairs.....his and hers. Even when serving guests we generally use the his for the male guests and the hers for the female guests. This makes it easier to keep track of who used which mug when refilling them.
There is one mug that is exclusively my husbands. Not one of my children would ever consider using this mug. It's Dad's!
Of the mugs on the shelf, I have two identical mugs. They have been assigned to my father for his use. If only he would learn to grab one of those mugs, instead of my husbands favourite mug.

We have 2 pairs of mugs that we use most often. A pair my parents brought back from Alaska and a pair that a cousin gave us for Christmas.

We have several pairs. We always purchase mugs as pairs, not identical but complimentary.

@Morleyhunt most of mine are identical, with once set of a complimentary pair. Then there are also a few lonesome cups that match nothing.

I had a set of four white mugs , I broke one the other day. BUT I used to be like your husband. I had my cup and NO ONE could use it. Then I donated everything I owned and got a new set back around 5 years ago.

Our coffee mugs were purchased because they had a certain appeal. We generally don't have two identical mugs.

@Morleyhunt I know what you`re saying, I bought these to match my square white plates, they are squarish and sorta taper at the bottom, really think.

That is sad. When my mother inlaw moved into a long term care facility, they asked us to bring personal items to make her feel more at home.

@Morleyhunt My cups and saucers are accessible because we also use them every day. The after lunch coffee must be an espresso.

I use cups and saucers so rarely. My good dishes are a little hard to access, and my other set has small mugs.

i drank my latte quite quickly this morning, darn it. i am tempted to have another.... as for cups, i prefer those big wide ones. i like the bigger cups. mostly because i'm drinking lattes or cappuccinos. the smaller cups don't hold enough.

I like mugs and I have a collection from different places. Often I end up buying it whenever I travel.

I like using my boyfriend's old college mug. I don't know why, but it is just the right size for me. I can always finish my coffee when I use it. For some reason, a normal coffee cup is not enough for me, and other mugs for some reason contain way too much coffee for me to finish. We now have an unspoken rule that his college mug is now assigned to me.

Apparently it's your father's favorite mug as well.
I drink iced coffee and get it at a gas station. I prefer to drink tea though. I have a mug that is my favorite it says "Keep Calm and Drink Tea."

Using my iPad I always need to remember to edit the photos or they end up sideways or upside down. This tends to slow my including of photographs.

When my aunt & uncle visited the other day they brought my mom and I each a new coffee mug. Both are china from Ireland. My moms has shamrocks and mine has the Celtic cross which is my favorite. Now we each have shiny new mugs to start off our mornings

My husband and I started buying mugs in pairs when we were still dating. Every now and again we need to cull, because the cupboard overflows. There are some that are permanent residents. They are our favourites.
