Snake Bite in Bed?

I read one of the most freaky, disturbing things yesterday within a group discussion board of mine.
A fellow mother was posting photographs of her friend who had mysterious bites on her leg. Two nights in a row, she was woken by a pain. When she turned on the lights, there was no creature in her bed, but mysterious puncture holes between 3/4 inch and an inch apart. (how would a snake just disappear?)
Her skin started to mottle in color and change in texture, as though it were dead scar tissue. (The images looked almost like a purple leopard print) She went to the doctor, I guess after the second one. (That part is a little vague)
The doctors do not know what it is. They have started the woman on antibiotics.
The question was posed: did they try an anti-venom? The mom posting this didn't know the answer.
I find the entire thing scary! First of all, if it is a snake, what the heck is it doing in her bed? Second, why can't the medical professionals make a decision as to what it is?
I wouldn't be surprised to see an article in the news about this in the future because it is just that bizarre!
I seriously would not return to that house or that bed until it is figured out & the biter is caught!
I'll be honest, it made me sleep a little uneasy last night!

@jillybean1222 There is something to be said for cold cold winters. I so could not live where I have to check my shoes every morning before I put them on.

I feel the same way. I don't even like to look at pictures of snakes.

@jillybean1222 They are very clever, I have seen video of them scaling house around windows trying to get in. They can really stretch and hide very well as well.

right... because not only do they need to find this specific snake, but they need to figure out how it is getting in the house!

That is really pretty creepy. What else would leave a mark like that besides a snake? I hope that there is more to the story than what you were told.

In India this type of incidents, say snake bites, are happening frequently. So I am scary about snakes. Many deaths happening due to the snake bites.

I wonder if it was a spider of some sort. Scary.

the "fang" marks (ewwww) were too far apart, most said, to be a spider... unless it was one H... of a huge spider! (which is scary too)
