Your Smartphone Tracks Your Every Move

I'm sure most of you already know that smartphones track our every move. What's even creepier is that every place you go, when you arrive and how long you stay is on a map on your phone. I recently came across an article that talks about this feature on the iPhone. See the link below. It tells you about this feature and how to disable it. I'm sure the android phones have a similar thing if you want to Google it. here's the article for the iPhone.
Not only is your iPhone tracking your movements, it's putting all the data it collects into one handy map.

Whatever you do, if you want to receive a phone call, you have to be located by the network. The phone is always linked to the nearest antenna, and the authorities can follow all your moves. The only way to be sure to not be tracked is to remove the battery of your mobile (turning your phone off is not enough).

@Dalane Yup, difficult to throw our mobile phones. We have to live with it.

This tracker has the address of the places you have been, when you arrived and how long you were there. This is on every single day. The article tells you how to find this on your phone (and it is difficult). I was able to turn this off. You can still be located for emergencies, or any app you want to use. Check it out if you have an iPhone and you will see.

Iremember hearing about this before. I do have an iPhone, and I went in and I tuned it off. I had forgot about it when I got this iPhone, so I am certainly glad that you posted this discussion so I can turn it off. From what I am reading, here, I may still not be safe, but at least I have one thing that they can't find me on.

I have a cheap trac phone, I hope it does that job, just in case some good looking man kidnaps me and takes me to a tropical deserted island. ..... I want to find my way back there just to make sure I am dreaming :) I live in the ice age, all my stuff is old junk BUT still works.

Oh, you are so right! Every phone now has GPS tracking regardless what apps people download on their phones. We can and are being tracked at all times. Big brother is watching!

@PamJam I got the story from my Comcast home page. So they don't think it's so silly. I know what you mean though-- some people would say, "It's only scary if you have something to hide."

i don't like the idea that you are being tracked it can also reveal things you don't want or need people knowing.

@Dalane true and in some cases it is linked to your accounts on social media and posts where you have been. IE: If you call out of work and your cell posts that you were at some big event like a drag race spot and a coworker sees it and tells your boss that could be a problem for you when you go back to work if you even have a job to go back to.

@lokisdad There are so many instances where this could be a problem.

Agree. Apple says that this is not harmful because it is anonymous, but people can always be identified through their IP address.
