Today I am starting working on a new puzzle. This one has 500 pieces and it is of a log house with a pond and lots of Fall colors.
The light coming from the outside is superb as it is very sunny and my puzzle table is facing the west side. Perfect for puzzling.
I received a lot of puzzles at Christmas time but could not work on them until now as my neck was too stiff.
I will just do a little at a time as not to aggravate the neck any further.
Do you enjoy doing puzzles in the winter months?

I have two puzzles waiting for me. Both have 1000 pieces...who counts them to make sure there really are 1000.

I used to build puzzles with my sister when I was younger! After you're done do you frame the puzzle or just take a photo and back the pieces go into the box?

Yes, we love to set up a puzzle usually we'd set up a table with a puzzle on it the day after Christmas and work on it with our son when he was little and on Christmas holidays from school. He received a beautiful puzzle as a gift this year, its of the globe and the box resembles a box and is finished on all sides so it looks like an atlas that you'd have on the bookshelf.

I used to love doing them at my parents' home. They had a table in the living room set up just for puzzles. I have no place to do them.

The puzzle looks beautiful! I like the log house. I enjoy doing puzzles, I think it's fun, especially doing it with family members. I built a few puzzles together with my husband when my elder son was still very young, so he didn't disturb us. When he was older, we just couldn't manage to build the puzzle as he was around playing with the puzzles. I recently built a 1000-piece puzzle together with my son. He likes building puzzle, and of course that's too big for him, so we built it together. We always have fun building the puzzles together, though it's quite time consuming and tiring sometimes.

My daughter loves puzzles. She usually puts them together in the winter. Then she uses this geletin stuff that she mixes from a powder and puts that on the back and she can hang up the puzzle. She used to have them all over the house.

Every year, after Christmas dinner when our kids were growing up, we would start a puzzle on the dining room table. Since we only ate in our formal dining room on holidays, we could spend months working on it ... and sometimes our family did. It was fun, and so satisfying when we would finish one!

Jigsaw puzzles develop patience, but it is not for me. I am sure you can take as long as you wish. If it aggravates your neck, maybe jigsaw is not the right approach for you. Why not consult a doctor. Puzzles don't solve neck problems. If you have too many puzzles and working at them causes neck aches, give the puzzles away, as gifts or prizes.
