How to Keep Clothes from Wrinkling in a Suitcase

Over the years, I have picked up a few tips to help keep packed clothes from wrinkling too much. Here are a few that have worked for me:
1.) Use the plastic from the dry cleaners between items in your suitcase. First I make sure the item is folded as large as possible in the case. Then I add one of those bags and fold them over so one bag could be used for a few garments. I guess this works because the clothes cannot crease so sharply due to the plastic and a bit of air cushion.
2.) Rolling clothes can keep creases to a minimum. It also helps to maximize packing space.
3.) Lay like items over each other and fold them as a bunch. This also helps to prevent sharp creases from forming.
4.) Try to bring clothes that are made of synthetic fabrics such as a polyester-cotton blends, nylon or acrylic. However, if you are going to a very warm climate, these fabrics may be uncomfortable.
Have you tried any of these? Maybe you have some other tips you would like to share.

that is really good to know. I love to travel but what I hate most is preparing my suitcase

I have tried all of these. What works best for me is to fold and stack shirts and pants like I do at home. Then make sure they fit tightly in the suitcase, so they do not slide around. When I arrive at my hotel, I lift out the items and put them in drawers or on hangers. No wrinkles. The key is to make the items in the suitcase fit snuggly.

I use underwear and sock at the creases to minimize wrinkling.

This works great. You can also use them to fill in the gaps, so nothing moves around.

I have not try number 1, but surely number 2 and 3 works for me just fine. When I used to hike with friends on a long weekend, I learned this from them also. So while we have to use back pack, I prefer to roll my clothes separately or per set. Or lay them one after another then fold them in a bunch. My sister inlaw could not believe in one time, we had to go on a vacation, and I only brought 35k-40k backpack for our dress (4 of us) and a small back pack for gadgets and snacks for the kids.

Great tips. I have been traveling for years, so have several good tips up my sleeve. I organize them in neat piles, then fill in areas with smaller items. The trick is to keep them as snug as possible. Voila! Wrinkle free linen, cotton, and silk.
