A Funny Bunch

Reading through the long comment exchanges (some of them hilarious) on one of my recent posts there is a comment by @Daljinder which says "Definitely a funny bunch - and it was not talking about bananas The comment was referring to the bunch of Lotters who had been involved in the comments and had been discussing a date proposed by one of them. The rest of the comments were wondering whether the 'event' had happepend and what was the outcome and we were hoping to hear more about it The comments went on for quite a while and for several days, with different time zones involved too but only those who read them would have seen the fun involved. Do you read comments when there are many in a thread? If not, why not? You feel they are private and don't want to intrude? Do you know: - those threads can become real fun - you can make great friends while commenting back and forth - it keeps you busy - you don't check your bank when you are busy - it will increase without you noticing THAT is why many of us know that FUN and INTERACTION is what we enjoy here. So if you haven't done so already, start joining in too the next time you see a bit of banter on here! You will NOT regret it! How very childish of people to make silly humorous comments on a serious site like Mylot. I would never lower myself to that level.

It keeps some of us off the streets and out of mischief @koalemos and I am so thankful for that. The end of season sales are on here and the windows are full of sp-called bargains but I am not tempted by them if I am engrossed in reading the soaps here

Read through long comments and responses?! Are you deranged, woman? That would be too much like "work" and that is a four letter word.

'Crazy' is another 4 letter word which is appropriate here too @purpòealabaster and you probably have to be inclined that way to be able to get involved like many are doing. But then you knew that already, right?

@mysdianait Ummm ... either you don't know how to spell or you don't know how to count, because "crazy" is not a four letter word.

I read everything I'd say I spend waaaaay more time here reading rather than typing. I often go all through my following list peoples activity looking for interesting stuff and that can take hours. Quite often I've missed things as I've forgotten to expand things using the show more comments. I'm being more careful now

I have been missing out on the fun. Some other off line activities have been pulling me away. I like to read all the comments in discussions and try to join in. I will be missing a little bit for the next three days, so I want to be missed, Okay?

being honest, here is my take - I do not read all responses/comments on all discussions. I only read from people I know. Reasons: a. I have been misinterpreted at times by non-friends b. I have been blocked by someone whom I never even knew existed on this site until I found out I was blocked by her (and I have no clue as to why it happened), but I have been careful since then. c. Those who do not know me, have a higher chance of misinterpreting my not-so sensible comments/responses. (Okay, I think the above two were somewhat similar to this last reason).

Perfectly valid reasons indeed! This blocking thing is getting on my nerves. I am reading alot about people being blocked this week. Personally I have no idea it I am blocked by anyone or not. That is their choice if I am Surely on a social site that last thing we need is a block button?

@mysdianait I have been against this block thing from day one. Okay, agreed, there were valid reasons when MyLot was a Spammers Paradise. But now, it is NOT. As I come from Earlier version, I am confident, sure that they have some codes, rules in place (because without them, they would not have been able to maintain peace and harmony on the earlier first edition). And we could do without block back then, why it has been in existence today? And more so, because sites like MyLot do NOT need such a feature. Admin is present, team is around and people are willing to obey and follow. The Block only creates pain, anguish and differences in the community. I had a discussion about it here - and in case you land up there, please read dear topffer's box. He points out something which will prove my point that it creates differences.
Hello all [em]happy[/em] Back in the older days, there was no block feature here at MyLot and the world seemed to be good. Yes, 'seemed to be' - because you...

If I walk into one with lots of comments I will read until they get either: boring or repetitive. Sometimes I feel out of the loop so I don't comment. What I read/comment or not read/comment depends on several factors.

@mysdianait You, too, seem to have mistaken me for some other, ma'am! I.... I ..am suddenly at a loss for words! Are you telling me.... Some other person has stolen my beloved name and avatar? These things are as unique and as much a part of me as my name IRL! (Hmmm... I really must check who was born first! Me or my cousin of the same name!) *DE looks at the comment he has written and realizes something important... for someone who claims to be at a loss for words, there sure seem to be a LOT of words written here! *

I enjoy reading through the long comments of some discussions here such as this one. The interchange of ideas is really entertaining and informative at the same time but i dont usually join in cause i feel like its an ongoing conversation between close friends and it would be impolite to just jump in and make a statement.

I agree that it is not always possible to find something to say. It depends on our mood. But it is also possible that, just by reding through a long thread of comments where there is a lot of banter going on, that our mood changes. We can then add something and our whole day changes and the time passes sos wuickly - and we end up getting nothing done offline I have seen what is happening on your discussion and I fear that it might not be finished there yet either as the weekend is approaching and others might arrive
