Oh my! My kitten went into first heat this week! / myLot

She was driving me crazy but now she just seems really lazy and all she does anymore is eat, sleep and meow for pets all day long! She used to be more hyperactive! Is it normal for a kitten to become more lazy after their first heat?

They usually are hyper while in heat but are beginning to be more mature and sleep more otherwise. Agreeing with @rebelann that now is the time you should be getting her spayed. I am a catmom of many years!

I have no idea how a kitten behaves, hopefully she is fine. If this is bothering you, perhaps it's good to bring her to the vet.

If she's an indoor kitty then I'd suggest this is the best time to take her to a veterinarian and have her spayed, if she's an outdoor kitty she's probably pregnant. Still, if I were you I'd take her to a doctor for an exam to see that she's ok and if pregnant perhaps they can abort and spay at the same time.

Usually they get aggressive, and moody when in heat. You will know of they are heat, when they are snapping, and attacking things. Very specific annoying cry.
