Home again, home again,

We are home again. The cat told us off for being gone. Demanded treats and water and to go outside. She had water and food and was safe while we were gone. It just is not the personal touch of having two slaves wait on you..
I am glad that my dad and his wife still can be in their own home, together. She will soon be 93. Both of them look a little frail. My dad's memory is going about how to use his computer, etc. He has a data base of family history but finds it hard to work through it now for what he wants to share with us.
We took pizza and salad and cheese cake to his house and had a nice family meal then played table games. Yesterday was his 85th birthday.
Hubby and I had a nice drive home after attending church where my brother pastors. We ate at Crackerbarrel on the road. I got very full on a sampler plate.
The laundry is going. It seems like a cold front is coming in as the sky is gray outdoors.
I need to catch up with all I have missed and have another cup of coffee. We have another old friend from the B site here. . . Denise, aka @penatonicsca . So, now I find it is time to get going on reading what I missed this weekend.

She checked on us several times in the night to make sure we were in bed, too.

@GardenGerty How sweet. How blessed you are to still have them in your life. Still, I am sure your cat is pleased that the human slaves have returned to serve.

Sounds like some nice family time. Nice to hear you had such a nice time. Your folks are getting along in years and it is great that they are able to still live on their own.

It is amazing to me. I even have pictures within the last year of them getting down in the floor to play with the dog.

@GardenGerty ...There will come a time, Dearie, when you will be so glad that you took each and every picture. Now they can be kids again. How cool is that?!

The cat is getting older and likes her routine. If we go for more than a weekend we will take her to visit my sister so she has some company.

His health gives me hope for mine as well. It is good to sleep in my own bed, though.

It is always hard to leave animals but they have to be inconvenienced sometimes or we would never go and visit people. We are going to leave ours to visit family soon, they are outdoor/indoor cats but they will not get indoors until we come home. We have a friend who comes and looks after the dogs and the cats.

Princess misses her outdoor time when we leave. There is too much wildlife and too much cold for her to stay out all weekend.

Dear Ms Garden Gerty,
This is Freya, the Catblog Cat speaking from Human 1's sofa. I fully understand your cat.I would do the same. Human 1 goes away and I make it very plain that I do not approve. Humans are meant to stay and look after our creature comforts the whole time.
Human 1 told me to say she is glad you had a good trip, On behalf of your cat, however, I am not. I think it is only right you roll out all the treats and tidbits.
Love from Freya, the Catblog Cat. (via the B word that must not be me ntioned and P. Paper and onto MYlot.

Ms. Freya you can rest assured that the Princess has been served up her regular treats. The bathroom sink has been turned on for her to play with the drips and she even got a few tastes of clam chowder last night. I would take Princess on trips but my brother does not do pets in the house and at my dad's house there is a D-O-G.

I hope I continue to be as sharp and alert as he is when I am his age. It is obvious he is beginning to forget a few things, but for a person his age he does really well.

yeah cats do hold that against their humans, even if they had food and water and shelter fine

She is very possessive of us and wants to know we are where we belong. The vet says she is getting bad this way due to aging.

@GardenGerty perhaps, but I had a cat once that was like that even as a young cat, lol, so perhaps it is a cat thing too

Sounds like you had a very busy weekend, and sounds like your cat was glad to see you. It's nice you were able to spend time with your dad for his birthday. I am sure he appreciated it.

I was gone for 9 days got home on Saturday night. I guess I lost some notifications. While I was away I looked and had almost 200 of them. When I got home I had like 50 of them. DaddyEvil told me they get deleted after 7 days, shucks.

Home Sweet Home and its people make our life happy. The cute, demanding pets also want to speak with us, right? . Like you I hope I can also be able to spend quality time with my parents. Wishing demanding timelines of these days give us this type of opportunity again and again.
