Length of discussion

Length of discussion Just now I saw a discussion which was just two words long, not sure if that’s allowed or not. I know some people write much longer ones which are ok, but writing something so I’m not sure. Does anyone know if that allowed of not? I’ve never seen a set limit to which to you should write unless I’ve overlooked it. The person had only just joined today.

rules didn't state anything with regards to length or characters here, though i can not think of any discussion with just two words

Try good morning hat what the person wrote. No there isn't any however I would have thought a 2 word post would be deleted or something.

it it discussion worthy? i don't know the rules on length, but i do know posts will be deleted if they aren't what is allowed. but like, for example, "Favorite food?" could start a discussion... So I'm not sure. I'd love to see an answer. I'm too long-winded to write a two word post

@kevin1877uk did you go back and see if the post is still there? I can't remember the admin's user names. I'd be interested to hear their thoughts.

I didn't see in the rules the maximum characters needed for a discussion.. but it won't help much if the discussion is not long because how would we respond?

No neither have have but just two words isn't really a post/discussion. It said Good Morning.

@kevin1877uk I guess because they're new, they may not know how myLot works just yet. I think it'll be flagged/reported/removed though. I just read the Guidelines and it says: Discussions, responses or comments that offer little or no value - Answers like "I don't know" or "I don't care" help no one and will be removed. So, as a discussion saying "Good Morning" It has no value and be removed probably? I didn't see that discussion but then again I haven't been in much today to begin with hehe.

Just my thoughts: the person who writes only 2 words will not get very far here.

NO, two words long are usually considered a violation, because in most of the cases it's a simple question and this is against the guidelines.

I've always wondered this myself. I've seen some rather short posts myself. But i don't recall reading about a limit on how long it has to be.

@kevin1877uk You wrote, Just now I saw a discussion which was just two words long, not sure if that’s allowed or not. I wrote a two worded post though it is a comment still posting. The question is when is it okay to just write two words and when is it not okay?

As far as I know, it must be more 100 words in every composition. It should be less than 100 words. I also noticed this concern with the other members. Sometimes I encouraged them to have more details with their composition.

I don't know if there is a limit, but common sense should dictate that two words is not sufficient.

I don't think there is a minimum length, but you have to put something in to give others something to respond to

In the guidelines it says you can't make "Discussions, responses or comments that offer little or no value"...A two word discussion could not offer any value. I've never seen a two word post myself. Maybe direct the person to the guidelines s they're a new member.

I think that some people tend to believe that it is the quantity of discussions not the quality. Really anything with just a couple of words is barely a thought, so I steer clear of those. I just hope that in time they will figure things out for themselves.

@kevin1877uk,In Bubblews we had a set minimum limit- 400 characters. Here,I think,we are free to initiate discussions no matter how long or short they are.I rarely read long posts, because I lack time. And my discussions are neither too short, nor too long.

I don't think "Good Morning" would be considered a 'discussion' @kevin1877uk . If it was somebody new, you'd think they would at least leave a little Bio or something.

With only two words, what did they say- 'hello there' ? Seems there must be a character minimum.
