Heartburn: What is the NATURAL Cure?

Most of the time, when a person suffers from occasional heartburn, they reach for an antacid. But, here is a better idea. My brother, who is a retired Physician’s Assistant told me this. Chew a stick of gum for about a half an hour. Yes it takes a little longer. The burning sensation you feel is caused by stomach acid leaking into your esophagus. Chewing gum causes your saliva to flow and that will wash the acid away naturally. I haven’t purchased any gum for years. I’m not a gum chewer, but this sounded like a good idea to me, because I do have occasional heartburn.
