There are many nations in this world and many of them are beautiful countries according to National Geographic. However, there are some places you really don't want to go if you have a choice. Some of these countries are just terrible enough to scare people away but some will become a big attraction to many people. I don't have many expectation and I used to love Canada but not after I have an opportunities to go to other places for a visit. New Zealand and Singapore are two of my top list that I want to live in there for life and New Zealand will be my first choice between these two nations. one thing for sure, Iraq and Iran and countries like that will not be on my list at all. No thanks. What about your choice and why ? Share with us ?

New Zealand is a very beautiful country! I have never been but I've seen pictures. Norway or Switzerland are also quite pretty. I would LOVE to become a citizen of the United Kingdom though.

Norway is good but they refugee problem needs to consider in any countries of Europe right now. New Zealand is so careful in this issue. They only want to take 750 refugees and they have two careful scanning test before they will take each refugee to enter into their country. I hope they will remain this way and keep this country clean , peaceful and quiet.

I'm very happy just to stay in Australia but Canada or New Zealand would be nice. I think some of the Scandinavian countries are good too as is Switzerland but the refugees flooding into these countries would make them less attractive to me.

The traffic in New Zealand is slower than you can ever imagine. I still remember while I was there for a visit. All cars stop in a cross road and wait for almost 4-5 minutes until the pest rain pedestrian to walk across the traffic light and reach the other side of the road before the cars will move. You cannot see this happen in the large city all around the world but you can see this in New Zealand.

Japan is a very expensive place to live in and they have always cover up how serious the radiation problem that it has been created from the disaster few years ago. These are the things that people who loves to stay in this country needs to be consider.

Well, New Zealand is the first choice in my list also. The reason for it I like least populous place with lots of greenery to live in. I came to know that the governing body is strict about sanitation.

I already came to the country I want to spend the rest of my life in. I came to live in Israel 31 years ago and because of being Jewish I am an automatic citizen here. You have to get the proper documents which I did when first came.

I think a more important factor is that of a good government. A good government means that you can have great medical care at affordable price. I think when you take a look at the tax structure of New Zealand, you may not want to go there while you are still working. The tax will probably take away a large part of your salary. 15% VAT on everything you buy is no joke. That is on top of high income tax.

If given the choice, I think New Zealand will be a good place to go. The place is green and is also laidback, I think or am I wrong? Canada seems to be the next place in mind because my brother says the country is nice and also full of opportunities. For Middle East countries, I think you can be right about Iran and Iraq that it will be difficult to live in but you can try and visit UAE. The country is nice and really touristy. They like to always become the first in the world (evidence: the tallest tower in the world which is Burj Khalifa). I like Dubai unfortunately, you can never be a resident there.

I will still choose my own homeland. As they said, there is no place like home.

It is interesting that you put a Canadian flag on your post. I love Canada but I was not born here. We have a couple of other places in the world we have given some thought to going for our retirement, Belize, India, Kenya are options.

I've always liked Thailand. I've been there before back in 94. I have people that live there, and would like to go back and visit them again. I would even live in Thailand if I could afford it. LOL But, Thailand and Ireland I wouldn't mind living there for the rest of my life. But, more preferably Thailand, since I have family over there. I don't like Iraq and Iran neither as you were saying. That country has lots of wars and bad things happening over there. Don't wanna go there neither!

A recent study showed that Germany is the best country in the world to live in, followed by Canada, UK and then USA.
