Do You Read the Post or Only the Title

Over the past several days I've noticed comments on my posts that could have totally offended me based on what I had written. However, I soon realized the person commenting did nothing more than read the title and maybe the first line.
Do you read the title and make a comment, skim the post and think you can make a proper comment from it, or do you read the entire post before commenting?
I always read the full post before I respond.
Thanks for reading.

I don't leave a comment until or unless I have read the entire post. Often not until I've read all the other comments too.

@just4him I don't always read the comments but most of the time I do. Quite often if the topic was interesting enough to read through then the comments will be too.

Comments written without any knowledge of the content of the post can be very odd indeed. Some time ago I wrote about my childhood after WW2 and that children played in ruins then. A member commented, "Wow well playing in ruins sounds like a wonderful and magical childhood! I only got to play bloody basketball. I wish I could have played in ancient ruins !"
Ancient ruins, magical childhood - my back bottom! The ruins were ten years old. I bet the member doesn't even know that there was a world war or where in the world Germany is.

That was a very insensitive answer. I would think not only would it be devastating to do so, but dangerous as well. The reason why there were ruins would also be objectionable to one's play. I'm sorry your playground were the ruins of WW2.

I'm like you, I take time to read the post. I also have my browser in full screen, and I can still see the post while I am typing. That helps me remember what the topic was about, in case if I have to rewrite something again.

I've gone back to the post to make certain I didn't miss something important in my comment. I will even hit edit if I submit it too soon.

@BelleStarr Thank you. I have only found a couple posts I couldn't comment on because I didn't understand the post at all.

Sometimes a title lends itself to an initial response in my head, but after reading the post I find the content is something quite different. This place is no where near as bad as some others in the past for people commenting ater reading only the title.

@Jessicalynnt That's a very nice way of telling me I'm long winded I know I am and I have cut down a bit, but sometimes it's very hard to keep it short. Impossible even.

I read the whole post then make a comment. I think some people just get in a hurry so they just post based on title

@just4him,How can I respond without reading the whole post carefully?I first go through the post, understand what the initiator of the discussion intends to say and then respond.Sometimes I can't understand the post and then I leave it and and move ahead.

I read the whole post and the title then respond to the whole thing.

it is actually unethical and not good to just comment because you just read the title of the discussion and not the entirety of the post.

@just4him yes it is, that is why I feel offended and angry when they ask me questions after I already give them the proper instructions.I tell them, "You don't listen to me, right?", and I give them a demerit if they tell me that.

The title determines whether or not I read a post. I read the entire post so as to form a decent response.

Those that don't read the full discussion are definitely only after the money. Oh well, hope they don't get that much..haha.
I do read the entire text so that i could comment correctly. It is after all a discussion website and how could you discuss when you don't even know the whole story.

I always read the full post before deciding whether to respond to it. I think that is the normal way to act on myLot; giving a reply after only reading the title or maybe the first line of a post is in my view a lack of respect towards the user who started the discussion. I would never do such a thing, but unfortunately there are people, few I guess, who think differently in this matter.

True, as I have recently seen. I'm glad you read the full post before replying.

I always read the whole post before offering a comment. I've seen comments that are obvious that the person didn't read the post
