How many Tabs do you currently have open?
I’m terrible at having way too many tabs open at any one time. I start the day with one and before I know it I’ve got half dozen open. Then from there it grows, however after some time I do close down and start again.
I’m often going back and forth between different websites. Doing a bit here and a bit there.
I currently have 16 tabs open, 5 for Mylot, 6 for Etsy, Yahoo for email, Twitter, Swagbuks, Zazzle and Fotolia

Wow that's a lot of tabs open. I currently have one open. Seems sometimes the computer runs better with less.

I have 9 but often have double that. I open one or two pages of discussions, like, respond/comment then shut them all and start again. I really only work on here although Word is open and whatever it is where my photos are stored - and let's not forget Spider Solitaire.

@Asylum I have word, maybe photoshop, lightroom and so on.
I guess it all depends on your computer, I have quad core laptop with 16GB of ram and I think that makes the difference.

@kevin1877uk It certainly does Kevin. My desktop computer has a i7 4 Gb processor and 16 Gb RAM, so there is no shortage of system resources.

I can't function without using tabs.
I have one page with three tabs open to my mail, Facebook and Ansa (the Italian news site)
Then two more pages with ten tabs each, all open to different discussions here on myLot.

Right now I have 5. I usually have a lot open too but not that many. I don't think I could keep track of that many. I usually have about 10 open on my tablet just because I don't know how to get back to those webpages on my tablet. Or I can't remember the webpages name or log in information so I don't want to close it. I need to learn to write things down.

I jst don't close them and sometimes I do wonder why I have that many open really. 5 is a good number and way better than 16.

@Asylum Because, while I read a discussion, another loads in another tab, in one tab I keep the notifications opened, and in another the new discussions, so I quickly switch through the various tasks. This is how I can do so much on this site.

The reason you get hacked is because you are predictable. I am willing to bet I can guess your password to at least one of your accounts... Remember, like a bad guy, I can follow your tracks and see where you have been. (You really should run Spybot and clean those up, Nancy!) Then I just need to try the passwords I believe you might pick and I guarantee I will get at least one of them right.
Oops! I was right! I just opened your Fb account! (I just closed that tab back up, hon) You need to change that password, hon... Sorry, I thought I would be able to open myLot with that password, but you fooled me there!

that is a lot.... well for me anyway ... I have three... mylot... youtube... and that's because i just put a video in my post... and yahoo.... my mate maggs ususally has 20 +, my poor little laptop would not be able to cope with that ... and I would be too impatient to wait for it to reload.... lol's

I think a lot depends on your computer and what spec it is to how it would cope with the load.

I am known to have 8 or 10 open at the same time. I would never be able to do that on the school PC computers though - only able to achieve so many open tabs when I am on my Mac.

Yeah I'm sure it depends on the computer you are working on at the time.
