Favorite cold remedies

Today I woke up with a nasty cough. I've had a sore throat for a few days and apparently it has blossomed into a cold. Pretty sure my dear students shared it with me. How generous of them. So, I got up and made myself some ginger tea with cloves, turmeric, and cinnamon. Usually I use the Japanese remedy of ginger tea and often it helps me feel better fast. I also use essential oils of cinnamon, clove, rosemary, eucalyptus and lemon in my diffuser, or just eucalyptus if I'm feeling lazy. Do you have any special ways of feeling better when you have a cold?

I like honey and a little lemon in my tea, especially when my throat aches. I hope that your remedies help you to feel better soon.

I might do that minus the tea in the afternoon. No caffeine for me after lunch. Lemon and honey is great.

I don't do any of these things but the ginger tea sounds a nice easy one. Hope you're better soon.

It sounds as if you have most of it covered. I was going to mention the ginger tea. The other thing I do is whenever possible I eat fresh pineapple.

That sounds good whether I have a cold or not! The store near me sells cut-up fresh pineapple. I have to go anyway because I just used the last of my honey, so I can pick up some.

A salt-water gargle helps my sore throat. I use vicks on my chest and that loosens the congestion. I'm starting to get over a bad cold after a week of being miserable. Hope you feel better.

I have warm honey lemon when I'm struck with the cold. I like eucalyptus, but they come in the form of lozenges. Care and rest well.
