Chocolates on Valentine's Day

There's a local chocolatier named Christopher Elbow whose candies are both delicious and beautiful. Some would say they are too pretty to eat, but I'm not one of those crazy people.
My husband usually gives me chocolates from either Christopher Elbow or another local confiserie, Andre's for Valentine's Day. Both are heavenly, sinful, wonderful, amazing, yum.
I was just commenting on another post by @Jabo that I appreciate it even more when he gives me chocolates for no reason. He seems to do that a couple times of year. And I'm always completely surprised when he does. Although I love the ones on Valentine's Day, I love the for-no-reason-chocolates even more.
Here's a link to the Christopher Elbow website so you can see just how pretty his chocolates are! :-)
Each signature collection features a flavorful assortment of gourmet artisan chocolate truffles consisting of rich and buttery caramels, and creamy ganaches infused with spices, fruits and exotic flavors. Perfect chocolate gifts for any occasion.

@jillybean1222 I am much like you and feel the same way about flowers. They are just as lovely coming from somewhere else besides a florist.

@simone10 every so often he forgets and has them delivered. (seriously, like once ever 10 years)... then i have to wait awhile & then gently remind him. i honestly just can't enjoy flowers knowing they were $75 to be delivered! That's insane! I much more enjoy a $5.99 bouquet from Trader Joe's

My wife loves good dark chocolate, but only has small pieces once or twice a week for diet reasons.

What beautiful chocolates! You are right they do look too pretty to eat. We have a couple of local chocolate shoppes in our town. I have stopped in a couple of times to sample the wares. My hubby is a simple redneck kinda guy and prefers Reese's Peanut Butter cups. Cheap and easy to please.
He bought me a box of chocolates last year. This year we have been hurting financially and I would rather have fuel than chocolates. I did buy him a package of peanut butter cups.

yes, i understand the financial woes! I did tell my dear hubby to keep the spending low this year. though sometimes he doesn't listen to me (hence the financial woes)

I LOVE the day after Valentrine's Day--when all the chocolate is on sale for 50-75% off. Hey there is a time for romance and a time for reality!!

It's so sweet of your husband to surprise you intermittently with gourmet chocolates. I've eaten fancy azz chocolates from Max Brenner and Ko Ko Black and they sure tasted great. But this time I received a box of Vanhouten's and I'm still happy because chocolates are yummy.

@jillybean1222 , they are pretty chocolates, and like you, I would have no problem eating them :-). I agree sometimes getting chocolates, for-no-reason, is as great, if not better, as getting chocolates on just Valentines day.
