My latest evil deed: Revenge against my landlord!

Just when we were almost done being angry with the last raise in rent, they raised the rent again. There was talk among my neighbors about moving, and then things went back to normal. But I decided to take matters into my own hands. When the soil was still moist, in the dark of night, I secretly planted a row of seven jade leaves by the walkway to the staircase that leads to my upstairs apartment. The leaves had fallen off of my balcony jade plant, and I wanted to put them to good use. We'll see if they "catch," and how long it takes for the landlord (or the gardener) to notice. Buwaahaa!!! I am evil. Have you done anything devious lately?

You are doing him a favor, the jade leaves are nicer than his actual garden.

True! I hope they "take" and that the gardeners leave them alone.

@enlightenedpsych2 Thanks! I'm actually running out to Kaiser today to pick up some meds. So I can see how my evil garden out there is doing as well.

That does not sound like evilness at all but you can expect rents to do nothing but go up, up and up. I remember when I rented sometimes it was like that depending on if I rented an apartment or a house.

I have to be rather devious here. My daughter and grandson argue and start quite a roe so I tell them if they can be kind to one another for the evening I will buy them a milk shake after dinner. Works everytime. Buwaahaa!!

Why is this evil? Is no-one to plant stuff there? I think you could do better than this if you put your mind to it.

@infatuatedbby It was. In read life, I was a tad ticked off. But I like how quiet it is here, and don't want to move. And rent is actually more in most other places in this (decent) neighborhood.

There is nothing devious, why don't you take in writing the rent will not rise for 3 years ? Take this, all residents can make this.

@TheHorse This can be possible, legal contract which he have to agree, after this he can rise, but till then you can find other place to live.

I don't know if they'd go for that. There's no "contract" here. It's month to month.

Technically, we 're not supposed to plant anything--we're supposed to leave it up to the gardeners. In reality, I'm just having a little fun. I've been here many years and am a good tenant. If they actually "busted" me, I could pull the little jade leaves out in 15 secs and we'd all have a laugh over it.
