Sad Moments

Sometimes I feel empty and alone,
pictures and memories fill my home.
My brother, mother and son are gone,
their laughter and smiles; I so long.
A song or photo trigger the loss,
tears of sadness as I hold a cross.
It doesn't matter how long they've been gone,
their deaths were just so wrong.
My brother was shot supposedly by a friend,
my son shot himself; his pain to end.
My mother died of cancer; her treatment was wrong,
instead of 3 years; in 1 week she was gone.
It hurts so bad to think of them at all,
the memories are painful as the tears fall.
The only comfort I have is the smile on their face,
that takes me back to a different time and place.

I am so very sorry for your losses. My dad had brain cancer and was gone in 5 weeks. That was 16 years ago and it still pains me greatly.

@fishtiger58 My dad has Dementia. When I visited him in September, I don't think he really knew who I was. He is the one who taught me: how to ride a motorcycle, drive a car, build a house, swim; you name it. It won't be long and he will be gone as well because of the disease.

@nanette64 I do very much care my friend. Wish I were there, we could sit down have a cup of tea and chat and you could show me all the animals and your place there.

@TiarasOceanView That would be fantastic. I think you'd like the peacefulness of the place. Birds a'chirpin', rabbits a'hoppin', donkeys talkin'. lol

At some point everyone is going to lose a family member @Shiva49 and although we have no control over that, the times we share with them mean so much.

@nanette64 My greatest worry is how to face those times and how my own will take to my passing. I was lost when my father passed away though I was in my middle age by that time. I cherish every moment with my loved ones, thanks for the reminder - siva

@nanette64 Animals have great senses when it comes to emotion. They can read us like a book. I have a bird that sits on my monitor and dances on my keyboard and picks at my fingers. It is often just play but sometimes I get the idea that is trying to tell me something and not just get my attention.

I think at least my momma is @Bluedoll . It's strange that I named a cat Momma Kitty and at night when I go to bed, she is right by my side. When I tell her, "I love you Momma", she comes up and will kiss my face. I think that is actually my mom's spirit.

There are so many times that I wish I could hold my momma one more time @hostessman . I drove like a maniac to be at her bedside (900 miles) but I was too late.

Thanks God I haven't lost any of my family yet. But one day this irretrievable only thing on Earth will happen and it will always happen suddenly. I hope to find enough willpower inside myself to cope with it on that day and i will try to pay more attention to my members of the family who are alive now

That was so sad and touched me greatly.... I haven't lost anyone that close to me yet. But I am dreading losing my grandparents. They are healthy and only one of them has entered eighty but life is so unpredictable. You are a strong woman to have gone through such loss and still stand strong...

I try @Daljinder . All of my grandparents are gone and my Dad has Dementia, so there will be another one soon. Life can be so depressing sometimes, but as my Dad always says, "Pull up your boot straps and keep on walking."

oh my gosh, what haunting words, such sadness. Perhaps I did know when we were on bubblews that you, also, had lost a son. I had forgotten though. I'm so sorry.

Thank you @DianneN . I think that's why I'm the comedian that I am, otherwise, I'd probably have been on some serious pills.
