Holidaying At Home

I know its great to get away from your home country and experience new cultures or just relax! However I have, in the past overlooked some amazing adventures to be had at home! Living in Ireland, I am a stones-throw away from some ancient and awe inspiring structures but never seem to visit them because I live so close!
I think this year I am going to make a bucket list of all the things I want to do at home before I travel on holidays abroad! First on my list is The Giants Causeway!
Do you live near any amazing holiday/cultural experiences?

We call this a 'staycation'. When we have visitors we take to tourist attractions that we haven't been to ourselves and are often pleasantly surprised. We went to the Giant's Causeway and were very impressed. While you're in the area go to Carrick-a-Rede bridge too. Another nice spot.

Carrick-a-Rede bridge is still one of the scariest things I have ever done! I decided to visit on a sunny day, however it was immensely windy down by the coast and I was terrified! I don't think I stayed on the island too long! The views are beautiful on a clear day though!

I do not live near any major or well known attraction. We are a day trip away from several interesting things. I have known many people who neglected adventuring nearby because of the glamour of a foreign trip.

Manchester is pretty central in the UK - our traditional holiday haunt is of course Blackpool

There is so much truth in what you are saying. I cannot say I have not done that. We have travelled to a few places in India before venturing out.

I think when we live so close to things like that we tend to take them for granted. While everyone else travels miles to see it, we see glimpses of it every day and really can't be bothered to look up close.
I live about 30 minutes (give or take, depending on which roads you take to get there) away from where Daniel Boone's parents are buried. About a half hour away (I'm uncertain on the time) is where he is said to have hiden away.

I would like to visit Italy one of these days. My family came from there and I just want to see where they used to live. Have a nice day.
