When was the last time you found a book that you couldn't put down? It's been awhile since I read "Me Before You" by Jojo Moyes but it's one of those books that even when it was finished I found myself thinking about it often.
The other day my daughter gave me another book by Jojo Moyes "One Plus One" and said I might enjoy reading this since I had loved her other book.
I started reading it yesterday morning while I had my coffee. After the first few chapters I found myself drawn into this book, totally involved with the characters and couldn't put it down. I read all day long and finished the book last night before I went to bed. This is really the first time in a very long time that I got engrossed in a book.
This book will make you laugh, cry and is a very heartwarming story of a single mom struggling to support her kids and the totally unexpected hero who walks into her life.
If you are looking for a great author try reading any of Jojo Moyes books. I highly recommend Me Before You if you haven't read it and the one I read yesterday One Plus One.
What was the last book you read that you couldn't put down?

I've been listening to books on CD. Jeffrey Archer and his Harry Clifton books have been spellbinding.

I am reading 1st to die by James Patterson and it is really hard to put it down as it is very interesting to see what the women's murder club comes up with next. It is strange as I thought I had read this whole series of books but somehow I missed this one.

I don´t remember which was the latest. But I do remember that I was a beast of a mother, many decades ago, when I was reading 100 years of solitude by Gabriel García Marquez. I was reading and could not leave the book and the girls were small. We were all in the living room so they played and I read. Suddenly I became aware that not only the girls had not eaten, but that it was way past their lunch time and I had nothing for lunch.
Fortunatly I had a couple of steaks although that was NOT a favorite of my daughters. So I summoned them to the kitchen, fried one steak and told them that we would play "birds". I cut a a small piece, the girls opened ther mouths and it was a "one for you and one for you". The devoured the first steak so I fried the other one. There were no dishes to wash and never had they eaten so fast. I applauded and went back to my book. They had earned their no nap time.

@marguicha what a funny story and I can so totally relate to getting so involved in a book that I neglected my family. I love your feeding the children like birds

@Marilynda1225 There was a time when they loathed eating meat. But I guess part of it was having to stay seated on a chair in front of a dish.

@jabouk this author JoJo Moyes is English and writes great books. If you hadn't commented the other day on a post about bangs vs fringe I wouldn't have known what fringe was when I was reading the book LOL

My best friend sent me off for a vacation with a book. I didn't open it until the last week, I wanted to be able to tell her I read it, but I got hooked on the book and had a hard time to put it down. I have read this author before and was awed by this book..The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom
In this fable, the first man on earth to count the hours becomes Father Time. The inventor of the world's first clock is punished for t...

I usually take my time reading, but I read "The Fault in Our Stars" fairly fast and it wasn't very long either so I guess that helped.

The demands of a growing family often make for interrupted reading patterns... But there have been some intense spells of Kindle time when all are abed of an evenung since last July. Before that, The Time Traveller's Wife, by Audrey Nifenegger; The Host, by Stephanie Meyer... They were compelling reading. As were the last couple of Neil Gaiman books - The Ocean at the end of the Lane, and many of Pratchett's Discworld books.

I can not remember the title of the last book I read. I will, however, say that If it doesnt' grab me I don't continue reading it.
I've never heard of Jo Jo Moyes. There was a book by Sandra Brown (I believe) and it was a look on autism before anyone knew what it was. It was a fictional book about the struggles of an autistic child in an already struggling world.

Honestly I couldnt count how many books I couldnt stop reading over and over and over and over again even if I tried so badly. But one book, maybe two stands from the rest, the"Charlie Bone" series. I loved the mystery, the suspense, and the thrill. I mean the book was thicker than my dictionary but I still couldnt stop reading it and knowing myself, if I see a book thicker than my dictionary after the first 10 chapters I quit and re-read it a week later, but that book kept me reading day after day.

Although it is an old book. my friend recently lent me this one masterpiece by jeffer archer-a matter of honour. the thrilling chase between our determined hero and the ruthless anti...makes it a hell of a ride one you just cannot put down before you read the last line.
p.s try not to hold your breath the whole time. its a long read :)
