Favourite Meal?

I am planning a dinner party for 6 guests this weekend (including myself). Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could cook my guests? I work in the food industry and think sometimes I get a little bored of different dishes, it would be interesting to hear other peoples favourites to give me a little inspiration in the kitchen!

If you can cook well, make them some Indian dishes. They will surely love it. You just have to have the right ingredients and time to cook. There are a variety of Indian dishes to be mentioned. To put it simple, if you want to try North Indian, make Rotis, Paneer Butter Masala, Palak Paneer, Dal Makkani, some sweets. If South Indian, Rice, Sambhar, Rasam, Idli, Dosa, Vada, Bonda and some sweets.

It is hard to beat a good platter, it makes for a more laid back atmosphere too, which is what I am going for! Dessert is always the hardest to figure out, though you can never go wrong with anything chocolate!

No vegetarians or picky eaters thank goodness! Hmmm I have never made home made applesauce before, might have to have a practice run and use hubby as a test dummy lol!

I'm sure whatever you come up with will be good. I don't give dinner parties, so I don't know what to suggest.

I love cooking for my friends, but I always stress out before the day/night! Maybe next time I will consider take away food and take some stress off myself lol!

When I cook for a lot of people I tend to do things like Enchilada's or Lasagna. They both are easy to serve with multiple side dishes and I hardly hear any complaints about the two.

I did Lasagne last time, it went down really well! Enchiladas are always a favourite with our friends though!

Seafood is my favorite. Scallops, shrimp or mussels are the best. However, I forgot that a lot of people have allergies. Maybe prime rib or a good chicken dish. Enjoy your dinner party.

A roast has been suggested which is always nice. A casserole can be done ahead of time and leaves more time for enjoying the company of your guests. I have a chicken and peach casserole which always goes down well - in several ways :) I'm sure it will be lovely meal whatever you serve.
