Peace in the Valley

There have been several posts today displaying photos which depict 'peace' to the writer. @Horse was the first discussion I saw on this topic but there have been others. Here is a photo which soothes my soul and banishes all other thoughts from my mind. This was taken on a country road in South Australia some years ago. Some lambs were playing on a raised log (I'll share those photos another day) in the same area. I love the light. It was late afternoon and the sun was just starting to head for the hills. Another Australian who loved the light of the Australian bush and tried to capture it in his paintings was the German-born landscape artist, Hans Heysen, who lived in Hahndorf in South Australia. His landscapes often showed the beautiful gum trees of his adopted country. Do you have a photo which signifies peace to you?

I can understand that - and the continual sound of the sea adds to the serenity I think.

Oh that is such a beautiful relaxing view, I just love it! The most peaceful picture that I own, which is probably only peaceful to myself, is of our fish pond. Without the sound of the waterfalls, which pictures do not contain, a lot is lost.

Yes, that's true. Sometimes you need the sound to help convey the feeling.

@judyev That is truly peaceful and with lots of interest in it. I thought it was Wales when I first saw it! I love blue gum trees. We had an avenue of them near one of the places where we lived in Africa which was a bit odd, but there you go.

A friend's uncle had several snow gums in his yard in Wiltshire and was very fond of them. I think parts of Africa have a similar climate to our hotter regions.

Thats a beautiful photo. All pictures of my hometown Ooty with lush greenery and serene mountains bring me peace. Ooty is the queen of hills and was the summer capital of India during the British era.

The Aussie bush has a marvelous rustic beauty. I do miss the coastal regions though with the lush rainforest areas, not to mention the coastal waters.

We don't have rainforest regions anywhere near us and I've never lived near the beach so I don't really miss those things. But I do love the bush :)

Yes, it would be nice although reading books under trees is a bit over-rated. The ants always seem to find me.

I have some that I took while mountain biking and hiking that I'll have to look through. A lot of them have me or other people sticking our tongues out and stuff.

@JudyEv - I'm sure there are some. I get a "Unable to perform due to low memory" from my phone when I try to upload a photo, so I might have to do it at the library.

The picture is really beautiful. I will have to go and dig inside my photo folders and see if I can find any photo that brings peace to me. I always like those pictures taken in nature, the nature makes me feel peaceful. Also, I like some photos I took in the Buddhist temple, the statue of Buddha (especially located in the nature) always brings me peace as well.
