Me Exercise? You Gotta Be Kidding

At my job I spend the day stretch, bending, lifting, carrying, walking, pushing, pulling and various other body movements. When I get home I fix dinner, sometimes take a walk, and then sit on my behind at the computer.
I believe my work day equals to quite a bit of exercise. In the nine months I've been working I'm a lot slimmer, having lost weight. How much I don't know as I don't have a scale but the skinny clothes in my closet fit.
One of the main reasons I chose to go back to working in a hotel was for the physical activity and believe me it hurt at first. I was in a lot of pain after spending some years doing nothing but sitting at a computer all day with the occasional walks. It's easy to get out of shape and painful getting back into shape.

I always get really lazy in the winter. As soon as that's over I will get more into shape, my husband and I love to camp which is really hard work. We fish, hike, and bike when the weather permits.

Sounds like good exercise to me. I've only been camping once and it was a horrible experience (I was seven months pregnant). Maybe I'll give it a try again or not. LOL

@fishtiger58 Maybe I should elaborate a bit. We went with a couple that fought the entire time, it rained into our tent, we only had those inflatables and mine deflated in the middle of the night. I ended up waking up in the wee hours, soaked. And the fact it was my first ever camping trip. Plus you're more experienced than I am on camping.

@irishidid I took yesterday off, and my bones are still aching. I plan to take a hot soak and workout later this evening. I have a history of quitting and restarting again.

I'm sure with all that physical activity at work you've also toned up your body and built muscle as well as dropping some weight. I'm so out of shape it's sad

Your are absolutely right on your analysis of people who have whole day sitting job on PC.
People who are mainly in software related jobs usually tend to gain weight and loose shape over the time if they do not take care of their diet and most importantly do not exercise.
It happened with me too when after 4 years of work, I gained so much wieght and gained so much body fat that I became uncomfortable with my own body.
Then I took some decisions regarding my diet and my fitness regime and started brsk walking and exercises.
Really need to start working out before your body gies up!!

I worked at home in front of the computer before starting this job so I know what you mean.

I can imagine working in a hotel is a real workout. They say housework is good too. It's boring enough to be good for you!
