How myLot changed myLife!

When I joined myLot in Septemeber as part of my research project, I had no idea that it was going to change my life!
Yet it did! myLot has changed my life! In the most unexpected way.
You see, in my real life, I don't get on with women. I often see the apprehension in their eyes.
It's almost like I'm a freak of nature, and they don't know how to relate to me.
So I've always assumed I just can't communicate with women! In fact, most of my real life friends are men!
Well.. that's all changed since I've joined myLot. I've noticed I can talk to women as easily on here as I do men. They are not "freaked out" by my opinions!
So ya, myLot has changed my perception and life is such a big way I didn't quite expect.
Has myLot changed your life at all? Do share the experience.

It has taken the place of going from door to door asking for a cup of sugar? These days one never knows what that could bring. See I could be in a lot of trouble instead. What else? I will never write lot the same way anymore or be inclined to write a bunch of, many, or various instead?

@Drosophila Sometimes it does. Of course sometimes it shows me another side but don't have to talk about that.

I think that mylot has kept me from being bored, as when I am in here, I am never bored. I do enjly interacting with others, and learning about their cultrues and way of life, all while earning. I think I am more addicted than anything. Once I come in here, I find it hard to leave. I am not sure if that is good or bad, but I do enjoy mylot a lot and I want to be here as much as I can.

@Drosophila iIt sure is. I should be sleeping right now., but finding it hard to, so I thought I would catch up on my notifications, and then see if I can sleep afterwards.

myLot has changed my life in so very many ways Wendy.
What research project were you doing? Was it for college?
Where is that photo by the way?
Anyways, I have made friends here for my lifetime.

I was doing a social media research project for my diploma in digital marketing. I didn't want to rehash the work many have done on Facebook etc.. since then I've finished my diploma and got a job as a social media strategist so all good there.
Photo is taken on a beach in Spain in its "off-peak" season. Good to hear you got just as much out of myLot as I did :D

Blogging has changed my life, you might say. I was on Bubblews before its demise. I had never blogged before, oh I have my own blog set up, but I never go there. I have a couple blogs on there, but I never knew how to relate to people in general - men or women. I've been a loner my entire life. Since joining the blogging community I've opened up. Mostly because I'm sitting here on this side of the screen. I don't know and can't see who's on the other side, so I feel like I can talk to people - something I never really did before without someone making some snide remark to or about me.
So yes, in that way blogging in general has changed how I respond to people.

MyLot changed my life for different reasons. It was the very first site I ever used to write on. That was many years ago now. And I was sad when MyLot changed in 2013. But they came back and I was happy once again. There is no other site like this out there.

It has, I think of women in some distant countries as shy and used to bowing to men's opinions and I see many here who really have a mind of their own. Believe me Ireland was not one of the countries I meant, being of Irish decent myself!! lol

Yes, this picture is taken on what can be a very different and busy beach.. in it's less touristy seasons.
Our perceptions on things can change just like this beach.

@Drosophila Well, a lot of things are going in funny ways as far as exchange rates go at the moment... bring back bartering!
For me, a lot of those I 'met' on another, now defunct, site are here, that counts for a lot.

@DianneN I don't know, I often find myself start talking fine, then I'd express an opinion that's too outlandish. And I'd see the apprehension in their eyes.
Or.. I'd start talking about some very uninteresting things, like the latest tech gadgets or something and I'd see their eyes glaze over.
If there is a guy in the midst, they'd become interested in the tech talk, and we'd be chatting away about that.. and well that annoys people too. so ya, that's usually how it goes for me

I don't usually interact well with women on a personal level, it's just that I'm a tom-boy and I don't think most women get my sense of humor.

I have trouble opening up with people since I know they won't understand my views and opinions. They only wish to hear what they want.... what they are used to...
But here I can say whatever I want... well not exactly whatever but you get the idea.. he he

Yes I do indeed. In most of my conversations, I tried to get people to talk about themselves, as you say they are only interested in hearing what they want, and talk what they like. So I don't get the same level of interaction i do here.

I learned from Bubblews that I enjoy being able to write about daily life and respond to others. After it closed, I thought, "Good, it will save my time," but I found I missed it, so I discovered myLot. I'm glad I did. Also, I'm glad to have found a lot of my Bubblews friends over here.

That is great, you're able to use myLot to stay in touch with the BB friends. I also like to read about what's the latest in Japan, it's an awesome country and I hope to visit it again soon.
