Five years ago today my husband was called home to his God.
This makes me very sad .
All last night I kept waking up and thinking of how things used to be.
He was so good to me and treated me like a princess. I treated him like a prince and we were very much in Love.
We used to do a lot of things together like going camping, sightseeing and taking his sister different places with us.
She was a widow and only had her brother as family.
I did write about her on the 1st of this month when she passed away and I was sad then but today I am even sadder.
It is difficult when their are two passings in one month.
I miss them so much it hurts me.
The picture is of my husband in his regalia.

I wish the photo were a bit bigger to see his face.
He was a very good man and no wonder you miss him so much Marcy.
I understand.
Wish there were some photos also of you, him, and his sister having a good time in places you used to go.
Hugs xo

Yes and his American Indian name was Rolling Thunder and he could sound like thunder at times. His regalia is what he used to dance in at the pow wows.

Some deaths... can still hurt as much as they ever did, perhaps not every day or all of the time, as time passes, but that sharp loss and sense of missing never fully goes away

@Marcyaz I have found they get less, well all of the time/immediate, more and more as time goes on. Or we get used to that being part of how we feel, or something. But totally gone? Never.

@Marcyaz We never know how long we have so those of us who still have a spouse beside us should enjoy every moment.

What a great picture. I have always loved going to Indian affairs when they would come to town in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. I would spend the entire day going around and watching them dance. I even bought moccasins and would try and dance with them.
What a happy life you had. You were so lucky to have shared such a true love. Not everyone gets that in a lifetime. You were so good to your husbands sister too.
When my dad was in WWII and stationed in Germany, he made friends with a major and his wife was an American Indian. After the war, they would come and visit us and I would have lots of friends there listening to her stories.
Thank you for bringing those memories up again.

This reminded me of when we lived in Oklahoma in a town called Shawnee, OK you can look it up online. We traveled to a lot of pow wows and met a lot of members of different Indian nations. It is very interesting to watch and if you have a shawl you could enter into Grand Entry (when the pow wow begins and you walk around in a circle some even dance)

@Marcyaz I loved going to so many pow wow's in the Shawnee Mountains of Pennsylvania. I use to watch them carefully when they did their dancing and when I went home I would do it all around the house. I even bought a nice pair of moccasins.
I have always been fascinated with the Indians.

What a nice picture of your husband. It is never easy when you lose someone so close to you like that, I feel it does get harder each year. Atleast you have the memories to last a life time and photos to look back on.

So sorry to learn about your sister in law's passing. Some people we can't get over ever in our lives.....your husband sounds like a really great person and I am sure you miss him. He is looking out for you and will continue to do so forever. He's your guardian angel, so he would be sad too if you remain sad.....

I am so sad with you, what a handsome man he was and how much you must miss your times together. It seems trite to say you will be together someday, that doesn't help much with today!!
