I do not usually listen to music while writing, but i do listen to it while reviewing back when im still studying college. It helps me remember everything i have read. I dont know for others but its like that with me. Your right music has a very deep connection and impact in each and everyone of us. In your case its your writing.

Yeah, Me too. I like doing Mylot while watching TV, and listening to music. I get ideas to start while doing those activities.

For me it has the opposite effect. I cannot focus on a thought while listening to music, at least not if it has lyrics. If it's just a melody it can be fine but otherwise it's a complete no go.
