A Confession

I'm really not one of those people who follow celebrity news. I could care less who is dating who, who slept with who, who was caught with drugs, etc.
I also don't watch the Oscars. I usually read who the nominations are just to see if there are any movies that I would like to watch. I tend to spend most of my movie watching time with my kids. So I often miss out on grown up movies.
I do have a confession though. The day after these big awards shows, like the oscars and Golden Globes, I do like to look at the photos of the best and worst dressed. I'm not sure why. I guess to daydream that I might have a figure like that or something.
Although I haven't spent much time perusing yet this morning, I did notice a beautiful photograph of Cate Blanchett in a pale greenish/blueish dress. I think she is getting lovelier with age.
Do you watch the awards shows? Did your favorites win last night?

@jillybean1222 I think of her in "The Gift", a supernatural thriller, it's a movie based on the alleged psychic experience. I loved it, because I live mystery and supernatural.

@LadyDuck Even I like mystery and supernatural stuff, be it in movies, series or books. Often wonder whether these supernatural gift exists like being invisible or teleportation etc. Wizards and witches and Hogwarts school all that fascinate me. Well, coming back to Cate Blanchett, she did look lovely.

Although the Oscars would be entertaining, I find them boring now. I do like Chris Rock, always did. But the show itself has become boring through the years. And some of the movies that were chosen are not the best ones. I do think that is all fixed. I believe the true voters are the people, not the academy. If we like the movie, we make it great.

most of the time, I'm just like "whatever, she's pretty," but something about the photos of Cate Blanchett really struck me this time.

I like to vote on whose dress I liked and which dresses I didn't like. But I haven't watched an awards show since I was a teenager. It's fun to see the fashion though!
By the way, I keep trying to follow you, but the follow won't "take".

Funny you should say it Jilly, I couldnt help but to see those photos also.
I do not follow any of it like you I am the same.
And also like you, I particularly liked her gown..Cate...she was lovely. I was not impressed with any others.
I am happy that Leo won though. He deserves it a long time coming.

I'm in the same boat as you as far as not caring about the details of others' lives. But checking out what the critics give as a thumbs up or down for dress styles, cuts, and colours does intrigue me. You know what will be popular in the upcoming season.
I didn't watch that awards show, and missed the shows showing the best/worst dressed. But they'll show them again I'm sure.

I really don't care one bit! That's probably sad. But I am interested in great classical music performers, jazz performers etc.

The limelight which the celebrity gets creates a hype around us. For me I am least bothered about them. But yes I make it a point to keep myself updated with the news about events like Oscar.

We watch the Oscars and the Tony awards show as well. I liked last night's show pretty well. Lady Gaga was a highlight.

I have no desire to watch movie stars pat each other on the backs. I have never watched and never will. I like movies but that's as far as I go.
