Morning, I received a negative comment for posting a Bible verse. The person claimed mylot would delete the verse. Are we allowed to post Bible verses? @just4him do you know? Please let me know. Thank you!

I would assume that posting a bible verse is not a problem as long as it is accompanied by some of your own words maybe describing your interpretation of it and/or why it means something particularly special to you or someone you know! Just posting a bible verse with absolutely no other content could be regarded as plagiarism!

Good question. I don't think there is anything wrong with it as long as your not being mean to people stuff. Stuff from the bible can be uplifting and helpful. I don't care for them to much but I do read them and sometimes they give me a feeling of love or happiness.

Personally if I wanted bible verses I would read the bible. However as the others have said, if you explain what it means to you, i see nothing wrong with it

I haven't had any verses deleted by myLot yet. One thing you might want to make certain about is whether the version you posted is Public Domain. If it is, no problem. King James Version (KJV) is Public Domain.

I would still add my own thoughts on why you chose that verse to post today. I know the bible is public domain, but still would be nice to see why you chose that one.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with posting Bible verses (or other quotations, as long as they are properly attributed) provided that they ILLUSTRATE a discussion topic in your own words. If you haven't taken the trouble to read the Guidelines, you should do so now:
This is where you will find out what kinds of behavior are accepted and unaccepted on myLot. When in doubt, remember the Golden Rule!

I think we can put some original phrases. However, we need to have some thoughts about it. Perhaps this person you were referring to taking the basic rule from this site, the plagiarism.

We are allowed to post a Bible verse exactly as we are allowed to post a quote, but we have to add original content that should be considered a discussion. If there is only the Bible verse, this is a violation to the rules.
