How Do You Do Your Mylotting If You Are Short Of Time?

I'm on holiday at the moment, so obviously won't be devoting my usual amount of time to Mylot. Perhaps I'll get the odd half hour during the day, and then I might have a couple of hours after my husband goes to sleep at night.
Since I can't possibly get around to everyone and everything, here's how I'm doing things.
First of all I reply to anyone who has responded on any of my posts, then visit them to see if they've written anything I haven't already seen. If they have and it looks interesting I will read and respond to it.
Then I look at the most recent list and pick out those I want to respond to, after which I may write a post of my own. I don't post every day.
Yikes, that's already quite a long time gone by and I haven't even looked at my notifications yet! I just deal with as many as I have time for.
However I'm unlikely to be able to clear them. Fortunately @DaddyEvil went to a lot of trouble to explain to me how to keep my Mylot notification emails in a folder. This means that I will never lose them, no matter how long it is before I can read them. So I will see them eventually.
This is the best I can do, and I'm not going to feel guilty if I don't get to you, as I know you will understand.
How do you Mylot if you haven't a lot of time?
Photo is of the beach, sea and sky in Spain

If I don't have time, or I'm short on time, I'll find that I just won't get around to visiting myLot. So there are some weeks where I may not get on for 2-3 days. But then there are days where I have hours to devote to myLot, and that's when I'll do all my catching up. I make sure to respond to every notification.

@moffittjc Lol - you are a binge Mylotter! I will respond to every notification eventually, but I deal with the responses on my posts first.

I am very happy for you that you are on holidays, and I wouldn't want you to be sitting in front of the computer when you should be out and about enjoying yourself. I'll miss you, but will take great comfort knowing that you're enjoying yourself with your husband. So, do as little as possible here, we will never forget you and will be anxious to hear from you in a month when you return home.

@Tampa_girl7 It's a lovely beach, and it doesn't get crowded at this time of year.

I just spent two months away from home and my computer. An iPad is cool but not as easy as a computer. You are on vacation.... enjoy every minute and Just do what you have time for here on mylot. Life is too short to feel tied to the internet. Especially when you are a snow bird enjoying a beach...

@PainsOnSlate Were you away for two months? You did a pretty good job of keeping in touch.
I echo your sentiments about being not being tied to the computer - I'll be too busy enjoying myself. (Though I enjoy my computer time too!)

@jaboUK I always enjoy my time on the site. I am a early riser and my body clock was off kilter because were were in the central time zone. So I was up and awake at 5am every morning (eastern time 6 am when I get up at home) so I spent two hours before sun rise (and before hubby was up) sitting quietly in the living room of our condo and at my sister-in-laws house before that, taking care of business on myLot. If there was a lag in my day I would come back...( a month on the beach, two weeks at my husbands sisters house and another two weeks traveling)

@PainsOnSlate Sounds like you had things very organised. Btw - haven't you managed to persuade Elaine to join us here yet?

I get through my notifications...then check the activity of those who responded on my last post... Then go to the rated discussions and pick 5 posts then go to the most recent ones and select 5 as well. To cap it all off I will create my own post, if something comes to mind
Enjoy your vacation!

@jaboUK well... It used to be a good method, but now no more. My wife developed an allergy, she no longer wants to see me holding my phone inside the house I guess it's partly my fault why things ended up that way. I have to find a new method

I usually go through my notifications first thing, then if I'm not pressed for time I head for the recent discussions to see if there's something interesting to read.
By the way, that photo is lovely .... is that the rock of Gibraltar on the horizon?
Can you tell I know little about Europe?

@rebelann Yes I can tell how little you know about Europe[/i]. The Rock of Gibraltar is far from here. There's an interesting legend about the rock in the picture - they say it exactly matches a gap in the mountain, same composition and everything. They say the devil bit a chunk out of the mountain and spat it out into the sea

@crazyhorseladycx Wow - Spain would have to be put on red alert if ever you came over! All the flags would be out for sure.
Thanks for liking the pic - I actually took it when we were here three months ago, as I'm having camera trouble at the moment.

@crazyhorseladycx The sea air does the hubs no end of good, and I'm sure it would you too.
I'm not too worried about the camera - it may just be the battery.

I haven't been active lately as I devote more of my time in the office. When I felt already burnt out, that is the time that I will sneak here in mylot and check my notifications. So the first thing I do is to comment back on the response of other mylotters to my post. If I still have time, I then check the activity of my friends and the discussions they answered. Once I see that there is a post that also interest me, I stay on that post. Sometimes, I just spend my free time with just one post that appeals most interesting to me.

@jaboUK I am not sure if everyone does the same way as mine. As for me, I want to attend to notifications first to acknowledge fellow mylotters that I have read their response. Even it is not a must to reply to all their response, I just think of is as a mylot ethics.

I think you just have to keep up the best you can, and we all understand. I cannot be here all the time either. I hope everyone here understand that we all have lives outside of myLot. I try hard to respond to all my notifications first, and leave comments for the ones that left them for me first.

You can go to your 'settings' and ask to be notified in emails. If you want them in a separate folder Daddy Evil tells you how to do it here;
I read a post by @fufurinha in which she bemoaned losing notifications that were a week old because school is taking up so much of her time that she cannot be...

I would probably make my discussions on my mobile phone, and then submit for posting once I am home. My 3discussiona while in confinement was made here in this netbook and I requested my son to post my first, that is why you will notice there is no image

@ridingbet You found a way to get round your enforced absence, via your son. I'm just coming on at odd times during the day, but try to catch up at night when my husband is asleep.
I haven't got round to your third post yet, but will do later. We are just about to go out now.
