MyLot, being a social site dedicated to discussion and sharing of ideas, may attract writers who will be able to give advice about freelance writing if they are involved in it themselves. It is also not a bad place to practice writing and to improve your English (if that is what you need to do), though it can't be considered as 'work' - any earnings should be thought of as just a bonus.
With such a variety of members from all over the world, MyLot can also be a rich source of ideas for articles, especially because, when reading discussions, you can get a good idea of what information people want to know and therefore how best to frame an article so that it will be popular and likely to be useful to people.

@Ronrybs I think that my typing speed has gone up too but I think that answering questions here has greatly improved the 'readability' of what I write. I tend to write much more as I would speak and with less 'literary' language, so that I can be understood better by those I am writing for.

interesting that Mylot tops the search options there - the main advice is to be careful - read site guidelines closely - don't write for sites that don't pay often
