Can I please get your opinion on this candle?

Hey MyLotters, I made this candle in the shape of a bottle. This was only my first attempt and I now know how to make some improvements. I was considering making some in other colours as well to try and sell them. Just wanting to know your opinion about it. Do you think this sort of candle would sell well? Just thought I'd see what you guys said first before I made some to post online to try and sell them. Any other ideas you can give me or advice? Thank you in advance.

You did a good job! Soda bottle candle - but I agree if there's a scent even better!

I like it but some people might think it is to large in that case I would try something a little smaller.

Not gonna say anything.... Lol!! You know I have already told you it was a cool job.... Try scented candles Dani. Have you seen candles in different shapes and sizes? Like a star (5 or 6 pointed), flower shaped, etc... You can do that. Since you have already conquered one, others wouldn't be that trying for you. Hey! Weren't there yellow, orange, green colors of such candles for different brands like Fanta, Dew, Sprite, etc? My kiddie mind says I would buy those to prank people into thinking they are real cold drink/soda bottles.... Oh I love the Jasmine and lavender.....

Thank you. :) I will have to give some a go. Making some extra cash is what I am striving to do and this seems fun and easy. Well so far! LOL that's why I like these because it would be fun to put the label on them and confuse people. And yeah there were other colours too. Haven't tried any other colours yet. I have everything to make another one except a bottle lol Thank you very much for your support on this.

@Daljinder lol I can't help it. There's nothing sad about that lol I'm glad you're my friend! Any ideas you have would be much appreciated. I'm seriously just trying to find any ways that are easy for me to make extra cash. I'm not struggling really, but for what I have in mind that I want to do, I need money. Like sorting out my license, getting a car and well you know, you saw my Facebook post.

@VivaLaDani13 Pfftt... You thank too much... Sadly now you are stuck with me as a friend so you have to deal with my "support". Art and craft things are easy and fun. People love them but are too lazy to try it themselves or are lacking in creativity. That is why they buy such things. You can look into more crafty things. Expand your horizon a bit. You are creative enough. So try the ones you think would sell in your area. Maybe I will extend you some Indian style ideas or maybe not. They wouldn't work there. I think.

The shape is nice, but consider safety because it might trip and cause a fire. Or you can make a smaller version of it and make a more sturdy(steady) base.

Yeah you are right. I have tried making a smaller one but for some reason the colour gets all weird. Keeps turning white when it should be brown. I don't know why. It's all trial and error though I guess. Thank you for your answer!

It looks great, but the only thing I would say is that it will soon lose it's shape as it burns down. And does it need some sort of saucer to hold the drips? Good luck with selling them.

Yeah that's something I've been concerned about. I haven't done anything more with these candles which is very typical of me. To not follow through my ideas. If I get motivated again, I will have to think about the things you mentioned.

@VivaLaDani13 look we are never get success in first attempt so we have to do work hard to achieve it and i am sure as you make this then you will get definitely success because you have talent to make it so try once more and see you will improve in shape....

HAHA looks like a bomb! That's funny. I never thought about that. Well the wick goes all the way towards the bottom so it will burn. I've tested it but yeah it will lose it's shape which sucks.

It's a lovely shape. Does it need to be in a saucer or some sort of container to make it safer? There are a lot of house fires caused by candles.

@VivaLaDani13 I guess there must be thousands of similar candles sold (with no base) so if you're into buying candles you probably already have some sort of container.

That's another thing I am unsure of. I have been burning the one I made to see how it goes and all seems fine except for the wax dripping down. I've put a thick magazine underneath it for now which isn't exactly ideal and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who may buy them from me. Just not sure what to do on that one just yet.

I think that's a very lovely candle. You wouldn't know if it would sell well if you would not try first right. so why don't you post them along with their description. Improvement ideas will be easy as you go along the way

Only a first attempt? You sure? Looks good! How long does it burn for? Everyone wants to know burn time these days! Selling at Cottage Industries & other community craft stores is a good idea. The local market or a car boot sale or garage sale will do much better. Try using soy candles if you can... they're in bigger demand these days. And get hold of some Citronella Oil, adding it to the hot mix in layers & you can keep the mozzies away. You can try a multi-wick version & it'll give off much more light.

@VivaLaDani13 if you end up making a whole heap of these, you can start your own pop-up store. They're trending here now. They're very cheap to start & run & you need only bother running it when you are in the mood for it. You can also experiment with different types of wick or soak them in different substances, which have the effect of different burn times, different flame colours, etc. I have some magnesium shavings I could send you across the Nullabor if you're dreaming of fireworks!

lol positive. And you questioning it makes me feel better about it. haha It burned for days. I mean not literally. I mean I lit it as much as possible and I probably could have kept it going even longer but I kept poking at it and playing with the fire lol The car boot sale was something I was considering actually so it's cool to hear someone else suggest it. Great minds think alike. Multi-wick! Dude! You're a clever cookie! Thanks dude!

I like the candle. It is like an old bottle of Coke. You should have purple, orange, red for grape, orange and cherry soda and/or a light pink or yellow for lemonade or something like that. Good luck.
