Have You Heard About Stress-Free Learning?

I had read an article about the education system in Finland today. It was totally different learning process for children. In this country, the teachers spend less time in classrooms as compared to conventional schools across the country. They use their extra time to design study programs and evaluating their students. Children spend more time playing outside, even in winter season. There is little homework for them and they are not required to go to school until the age of 7. I am sure if the children from different countries will feel envious on this kind of education. Here is the question, “Is it good for the students to play and have stress-free learning?” “Why?”

Yes I had read the article regarding Finlands new schooling system. I am not sure what to think of it, but I am sure for the new generation this is a good thing. It would be a very different concept to me as my study was so disciplined.

@TiarasOceanView It was really a very interesting educational system. I do think that some countries would like to have an option and adapt new system. They can do this if the country is ready to change and facilities are well-equipped. That's the reason why my country is having dilemma in injecting the K12 education program. I must admit our government is not ready for it.

@TiarasOceanView The old educational system is that we don't have middle school during my old days. Now, they started to try the western educational system to add the middle school in the program. However, I can see the difference now and before. The country is not ready for the drastic changes.

@Shavkat I see Shavkat so your country may be changing its system too? But not ready yet. Over here there was something called a Common Core Curriculum introduced that many are against.

Stress-free learning sounds good to me. Finland and the Scandanavian countries are always ahead of the curve so I tend to trust what they are doing.

@NJChicaa I think it really works on them. In some point, it needs for the children to be trained in their appropriate age.

@Shavkat I agree. The focus on high-stakes standardized testing we have in the US is just too much for young children. In fact, it is too much for high schoolers as well.

@NJChicaa Let me share the difficulties of the Chinese students. Most of them complained having too much homework to deal with in school and even during holidays, they still have homework and cannot enjoy their lives as a child.

It is really great to know that such a schooling exists. In our schools, really children are stressed with studies. The outcome is they learned something in books and score good marks. This marks never help them anyway to make their life. I support the stress free learning. The children get an opportunity to enjoy their childhood rather than filled with worries on studies.

@Letranknight2015 It could be one of the reason. They can focus more on every students when children are going to start to learn at school.

In Australia, even quite young children seem to get a lot of homework - but only in some schools. We didn't get much homework, except for reading, until we were in high school.
