What do you think about texting while driving?

I've seen some folks here in Tennessee texting while driving. I think that it's crazy and dangerous. It's about as bad as drinking and driving. I mean, I will get a text while I'm driving, but, I'll look at the text, and than put the phone down between my legs in the car. I don't like to text when I'm driving. But, what do you think about texting and driving? And what do you do when you get a text while you're driving? Do you text them back, or do you leave the text alone until you come to a redlight? LOL

It really is dangerous. It's stupid. People have lost their lives because of drivers who were driving and texting. If you want to respond to a text, either wait until you get to your destination or pull over in a safe place and respond. This is safer. It frustrates me when I see people text and drive.

I have never texted in my life and have intentions to do so but if I did, I would never text or answer while driving. What is so earth shattering that people have to respond or text right now.

Texting and driving is not safe. If I receive a text while driving, I don't bother looking at my phone. No matter how urgent that text is, I will only respond to it once I reach my destination.

I don't drive so this doesn't apply to me. But I am super against texting and driving. I don't think we should be using our cellphones at all while we're driving. One second off the road can make all the difference. If you are expecting an important text, then pull aside, read it (and reply if needed), and then drive again. It'll take only a minute or two and it's a lot safer.
