How to Speed Up Computer?

I haven't been on MyLot for a couple of weeks. I would like to say that it's because I've been on an extended vacation, but that would be a lie. It's just technical problems with my computer. It's been sooo slow. I find it frustrating to do much work because it takes twice as long. I cleared my temporary internet files and that seemed to help some. Anyone have tips on how to speed up your computer?

If you have applications at startup, prevent their launching by disabling them. Free up your disk space. The hard drive might be completely full that's why your PC runs slow. Reset it and reinstall your operating system. Some were also mentioned by other myLotters. You can also try them.

getting rid of unwanted startups is a good thing to do. on that ccleaner there's a section to do that.

you've nothing to be sorry for, I was just mentioning that the ccleaner thing I talked about is useful as it can do a few things.

I'm finding it slowing down a little with all the new large photos we have now.. I have never investigated the technology for speeding it up.

Yes, the larger pictures slow things down. It's also slow on other sites too, so it's my computer.

You might also run your virus and spyware protection to make sure you are clear.

run a virus scan, you may have something messing up your computer that you don't know about.

I did run a Norton scan so it has to be something else. Thanks for your comment though.
