Well, I never had a girlfriend, so I accepted as my parents' wishes. You have to trust your parents, your heart may take some wrong steps, but parents really loves you. I never involved myself in making girlfriend. By the way if your choice for your live partner is really pure, then she only have to win the trust of your parents. True love can do this, go ahead. Do not ruin your parents' happiness, and make them happy with your love.

@elveeroy Hi! No it is'nt silly. Taking decisions about marriage is the most important thing in your life. And trust me, we've all gone through generation gap issues with our parents. So in situations like this, it's must that the parents and children sit down for a heart to heart talk. Convey each others expectations across. Mostly parents want their children to marry within the community and faith which is a good thing and children should inturn put across what they want in a prospective bride or groom. Assure them that if at all you choose a boy on your own it will also be according to their likes and if they choose someone then it should cater to your needs as well. When you build trust and communication bw parents and children, trust me it's half the battle won. Finding a right mate is a blessing. Pray for your guy right from this very moment. Whoever he is or wherever he is. And when you choose, make sure you can be friends with that person. You can be your maddest, craziest self with that person. A relation based on realistic values plus God's grace will stay strong against all odds. Good luck.

If you love someone, then follow your heart. If someone look for your love, then you will suffer forever.

Parents are over protective of their children and they are always right.
