What do you do for a living and why are you here?

I was just thinking about this and am curious. If someone earns a lot of money they won't need the extra little bit they earn here at mylot. They might come to chat and socialize or get advice etc.
I used to work in a hospital for two years but had a breakdown and quit. I then got married and babysat a lot over the years while taking care of my two children.
My youngest child is 8. I am still a stay at home mom. I like being here for them before and after school and all summer to do things with them. If it wasn't for my husbands death in 2011 I would not have the money to stay home with them the way I do. That is the only good thing that came out of his death.

I'm a stay-at-home mom as well. I got pregnant with my eldest as I was finishing my BA, and since we wanted our kids close in age, I chose to stay home. Plus, I wanted to be home for them. My eldest turned four last November. I'm enjoying every minute. I would like to work at some point, but I'm thinking of waiting until they're all in elementary school. I am happy to be here for them.

I think that is wonderful. With you being able to stay home with them you get to spend all those fun times with them until they are old enough to go off to school. When my husband was alive and we were together I had wanted more children. I wanted to have one every 5 years until I was 40 having my last one. I got married at 19 and had my daughter when I was 20. I got pregnant with my son a little earlier then I had intended. My daughter was 3 1/2 when he was born. I am so glad that I did have him early as with my husband dying I might not have ever been able to have him if we had waited. Part of me wants another baby but another part of me doesn't want to start all over again especially with it not being his child.

Sorry to hear about your husband. And regarding mylot, its an extra earning killing your time. I am far from my hometown and here I am doing nothing. And I am temporary here. Thats why I am using mylot for a whole days.

I agree it is a way to kill time. It is a fun way I think. I love seeing all the different reasons people use mylot. I have learned a lot over the years being active here. My son wants to use my computer and I want to be here at mylot still so I am mylotting on my phone. Mylot is addicting!

That is really neat that you are a home-based teacher. I have friends who have children who did homeschooling and they would have teachers online who they could talk to if needed. I am not sure exactly all they did but I thought it was really neat. I wonder if that is similar to what you do.

So since you are in finance this would be a way to earn a little money on the side right? I think that is what you mean. It wont make us rich writing here but it does earn us a little money and it is fun.

I come here for the money too. I like the socialization here is a huge reason though. I can earn more elsewhere but I enjoy my time spent here a lot. If mylot stopped paying though I would have to quit the site. I don't spend time on any sites except facebook that I do not earn money. I feel like I waste my time if there isn't a real reason for being there like earning money. If mylot quit paying would you still come here?

That is awesome. I wish I could work at a library. I think you have to have some schooling for it unfortunatly and I didn't go to college. I love reading. I am at the library usually twice a week browsing the books and movies. I hope you do well here at mylot earning a little extra.

Maybe someone has a lot of money but if they do it is more for them here besides giving them something to do that is different. Did you ever wonder why people who have money keep it and earn even more, it is because they don't go out and buy, buy, buy. They know to save, save and save.

That is how I am. I was taught to save my money. I feel guilty when I buy myself things. Even when it comes to food I skimp on the stuff I eat and feed my kids healthy more expensive foods. I just wonder if I made a lot of income if I would still come here. I think I might as long as the site still paid just because I love to write and interact with others.

I am here to earn money. I can earn more money on other sites like doing paid surveys but I really enjoy the interaction here at mylot more. I don't earn much but it makes it fun for me to come here. However if they stopped paying I would not stay. I don't usually do any sites except facebook unless they pay. I feel like I waste time if I don't earn from the things I do. Even when I read books I write reviews to earn a few cents from it :)

I work from home.
I'm here because I want to improve my writing skills & writing style through interaction.Another reason is, I want to read the posts of my crush

Is your crush someone you know in person? I don't know anyone here in person. Years ago I got friends to sign up but none stuck around like I did. I have seen lots of people over the years from other countries come here to improve their english and writing skills. I think that is awesome. You are doing great I think!

That is so awesome that you have a great job like that. Even working part time to spend time with your child that is wonderful. I am glad that you have some time to spare to come here to mylot especially to comment on my post :) I have seen a lot of names lately on here from the Philippines :)
