Some people would think differently if bromance is brought up as a discussion. I mean, there is always a misnomer or even perceived differently by others with malicious mindset. Bromance is a way of showing brotherly love between two or more men in public. I am pretty sure, some of you would see the gestue of holding hands by couples and parents with their children. In some of the world, Middle East and India, most men hold each other’s hand as a sign of respect and brotherhood. Some cheeky people will raised their eyebrows or have a second glance if seeing two men showed endearment gesture on the street. Others would express their discomfort if holdings hands is seen between two men. In 2005, one particular event in the US that President George Bush held hands with the former Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah when he visited the ex-president’s ranch for a meeting.

that is usually the perception of some persons who think maliciously of 2 men holding each other's back or hands when these 2 men could just be the best of pals.

@ridingbet I think some traditional people could not understand this kind of gesture. I had seen this before when I had the mission in a Muslim country. I find it so weird but that's the way they showed respect to their male friends.

@ridingbet I had seen it a couple of times when I had my medical mission in Central Asia. It is normal for them since it is also a Muslim country.

@Shavkat how much more if they see 2 Arab men doing cheek to cheek as a sign or gesture of greeting, my friend. That is how they greet with the words "sala'am al'alaekum"!

Some people do not understand that traditions are different from country to country. There is nothing wrong in some country holding hands between two men.

@LadyDuck I do agree on that. It doesn't need to question the act since it is in their culture.

I have noticed that too. It is not something we are used to seeing in the UK, but it is good that they are open with their bromance like that.

@gudheart I think we do some gestures to express oneself by handshakes. It is still a part of being bromance.

@cacay1 I also felt awkward seeing them do the gesture. But then, I had also experienced this when I had my placement in Central Asia. It is commonly done by men.

@Shavkat So unusual , and for us from Philippines , a ridiculous and hilarious laugh to follow from bystanders/watchers.

It is inevitable that some people cannot understand the reason why other people do some practices. We just need to open our minds about it. For me, I find it so fascinated with the other countries' cultures and practices.

i just learned from you the word Bromance, thanks! I think because homosexuality is common so people have the tendency to be malicious when they see two men holding or hugging each other.

@mammots A perfect example of bromance, both of them showed their real brotherhood relationship in or off camera.

yes, in some race this is a part of their culture and tradition but for some, they might find it absurd. They thought that this will affect their macho image
